Here's hoping for drk tanks and pld DD*Sigh* I wish people would stop pidgeon holing jobs into things without thinking.
Dark Knights were some of the best tanks in the series PRE-FFXI.
In FFT a Dark Knight could stand still with 4 guys wailing on him, Take all the damage they dealt, then turn around and strike one of them for all that damage, heal all the damage back to themselves and keep going.
They were Drain Tanks.
Throw us a bone, Yoshi-P~
A keyword that we can try to decipher!
If be interesting in the synergy between job vs armory
Perhaps itl be something along the lines of setting what your bonus/stats etc will be
my examples
Thm or Conj are your armory class
You choose Blm as your job, youll get +stats on some ends - stats on the other
Your damage dealing spells will deal 25% more damage
Your healing will take a 25% penalty
and im sure you can go from there on what itl mean
id really like to see it where we dont have to level the jobs also, leveling the weapons still being the best method, but with the job system youll personalize things by making some things alot more effective while things not related to it taking a penalty

and on another front, if we do have to level the jobs too
i seriously hope its like leveling shield, where it counts your current armory class as far as what SP base ytou get
with how many people are 50 in certain armory classes already, itd be nice to allow them to stay in the endgame camps to do the jobs too even if from scratch

I *seriously* hope we don't have to level jobs from scratch. There's enough grinding to do in this game already.and on another front, if we do have to level the jobs too

You have a very elastic idea of "dumb". You don't even talk about "tanks" in offline games, as the trinity is a characteristic of MMORPGs. FFXI is the only other online installment of Final Fantasy, ergo Dak Knights have never been tanks.

you got to be joking o.o so you want to unlock a new Job and be 50? so you can just go on from there?I *seriously* hope we don't have to level jobs from scratch. There's enough grinding to do in this game already.

No thanks i want to unlock a job like Monk and reset from level 1 and learn my job and enjoy it. That how it should be done allowing us to be 50 right from the bat is really dumb idea in my books. The game is super easy to level up you can get 1-20 on one leve reset. Top of that yoshi-p said he going to take off surplus so it not going to be such a pain in the ass to level up our jobs anyways.

They would not make us start from scratch that is for certain. However if they did make huge changes to how everything works I imagine they would let us spread our total accumulated SP/EXP over the new job's in a way we saw fit. For example if I had a Rank 50 MRD I could have a R50 WAR or whatever the new job system would entail. That would allow us to have our choice of what jobs we wanted when the new system arrives. I doubt it would go that far though, would it?I *seriously* hope we don't have to level jobs from scratch. There's enough grinding to do in this game already.

I'm sorry but i think it be like thisThey would not make us start from scratch that is for certain. You level up Pug too 50 you can level up Pug to 75 or whatever is the new cap or level up your Job "monk from 1-max. If i unlock Monk and stay as 50 and go on from there it be dumb idea. If you want to stay 50 you can just level up your Pug or unlock monk and level that job from 1+
He said he going to take off surplus and you can now get 1-20 in about one leve reset so i think it better off it you start back from 1 on any job you unlock. Like FFXI you get 30 war and unlock any of the other jobs and you start them as 1.

Sorry I don't think I made myself clear. I meant if they completely got rid of the current system so CON, THM, MRD would be no more. Then replace them with traditional classes now they would have to refund you your total SP and let you spend it on the new classes. That was just answering someone who was wonderin how they could do something like that without a character wipe.I'm sorry but i think it be like this
