So if you ask me do they deserve the time off? Sorry, but NO. Really, outside of banks and govt. jobs, what company respects US holidays? but thats a rant for another thread.
Btw this game was sold retail, retail does not close for holidays, cept maybe tday and xmas...Customer service is a division of the company that would not survive without retailing the game.
Granted my corporate office is closed friday through wednesday, must be nice eh? Sorry off topic.

Don't get me wrong, I completely agree. Labor Day is a holiday specifically created for Union workers, and therefore isn't a real holiday. Pisses me off that everybody in this country recognizes it when not everyone is actually part of a Union.

Most companies would have customer support coming in over the weekend and on labor day for an issue this large. but what am i saying, most companies this size have 24/7 customer service.

Hey guys, still no fix for me. Sorry i'm too lazy to read the last 50 pages so i'll just ask here. has anyone had their account fixed today or heard from customer service in NA? I'm thinking they are on a 3 day weekend for labor day, which is just incredible if it is true. any info will help. good luck to all. i know it is frustrating. i am almost considering quitting all together, but i'm trying to be patient. this mmo is (technically) in infancy. im optimistic that after these growing pains square will get their sheisse together and provide us all with a great game and community. or, it will flop like the original ff14.

Free Trial Extension

To apologize to our loyal fans who may not have been able to login or create characters during early access and the days immediately following launch, the development and operations teams are currently considering providing all player accounts with an additional seven days to their free trials. This includes non-legacy players from 1.0, who will be given new seven-day free trials. Trial extensions will be awarded after the aforementioned server maintenance on Wednesday. Details on the trial extension, including the extension period, will be released in a separate post as soon as they have been solidified.

We thank our fans again for the overwhelming support you have shown us over the past week. The response to FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn has well exceeded our expectations, and unfortunately resulted in our inability to provide the service which we originally intended. We humbly ask for your continued patience as we work to alleviate the issues as we truly appreciate all of our fans. We are very sorry for the frustration that has resulted from these problems.

So, they aren't actually promising to grant 7 more days to all accounts, they're just thinking about it. At this rate, I wouldn't doubt them granting the 7 days to all "active" accounts, thus screwing those of us with 2 service accounts again.
