Region Locked Codes

So I just tried to input my Moogle Earrings code and apparently "The code's region is inapplicable." Have these codes always been region locked? I certainly don't remember seeing anything about region locked codes anywhere prior to the early access code fiasco. This is EXTREMELY upsetting considering I purchased the Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary Ultimate Box, which by the way SE decided not to release in NA or anywhere else outside of Japan for that matter (THANKS! ), and now I can't use my code because it's region locked. Are the Wind-Up Dalamud Minion codes not going to work either? I mean, you're advertising and selling the Before Meteor Soundtrack with Wind-Up Dalamud Minion on the NA SE site even though the soundtrack is a Japanese Import... Guess I'll have to wait and see if my code works when it arrives.

Bottom line; you guys need to take off these utterly ridiculous region locks for codes. I can understand region locks for codes when dealing with the PS3 due to the fact that there are only 12 digits available for use at any given time across all regions but when we're talking about a 20 digit code for an item that's exclusive to your company, your game, your "system" and your website... I want my Moogle Earrings and it's as simple as that. I want what I paid for.

As far as I'm aware, the moogle earrings were JP only. Regarding the Dalamud Minion, I can confirm the codes aren't region-locked, as I am showing mine off right now

It's ridiculous because they're in the game and already in OUR game. I think most of us around here know they have to be downloaded to our client for us to even be able to see them and that means, technically, we already have the item we're just not allowed to access/acquire it.

I received a reply from SE support today and here's what it said -

"All aspects of the Game (including but not limited to the Game computer code, updates, patches, expansion packs, characters, character names, character data, virtual items, character profile information, (non-personal) account information, chat transcripts, artwork, plot, dialogue, locations, sounds and music) are owned by SQUARE ENIX or its licensors. You do not have any property rights in the service account you use to play the Game ("FINAL FANTASY XI Service Account").

The Game includes software that is installed on your computer, as periodically updated by SQUARE ENIX ("Licensed Software"), as well as data that SQUARE ENIX maintains on its servers. Subject to your continued compliance with the conditions set forth in this User Agreement, SQUARE ENIX grants you a limited license to use the Game. In order to play the Game, in addition to this User Agreement, you must also agree to the FINAL FANTASY XI Software License Agreement ("License Agreement"), which grants you a license to use the Licensed Software required to play the Game, the SQUARE ENIX Privacy Policy available at www.playonline.com/ff11us/support ("Privacy Policy"), and the Square Enix Account Terms of Use. I got some copypasta answer pertaining to FFXI and while some or all of it may apply to FFXIV: ARR the fact of the matter is it's CLEARLY from Final Fantasy XI and the person that responded to my ticket obviously either did not care to read my ticket in it's entirety or did not care to respond appropriately. I really don't even think that answers my problem/ticket. I bought the Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary Ultimate Box and with that came the item code for Moogle Earrings in A Realm Reborn. While I did not purchase the rights to that item I did purchase the RIGHT to have/USE that item and with this region lock I am being denied that.

Really guys... this is something you could easily make right. There is no reason to bar people that imported the FF 25th AUB from having the Moogle Earrings. I know I'm not on the back end but this can't be something that's difficult to rectify. Please... just do the right thing

I received my Before Meteor Soundtrack yesterday and the entire thing is in Japanese (which is not the problem since I knew it would be). The soundtrack is clearly a 100% import right down the Wind-Up Dalamud minion code which is not region locked. So why exactly are you region locking certain codes again? Wind-Up Dalamud is OK for NA/EU but Mogu Mogu Earrings are not?
