Character Creation Limit - Not playing if I can't play with friends

Can we please get an official word on what to do about Locked out high pop Realms? All of my friends/family/guild is on Leviathan and I've been trying for 2 days to get a character created with no luck.

On the character select screen it says "Once you have chosen a world, you will not be allowed to move to another, so if you have made plans to play FFXI with friends, make sure you all select the same one". This is a HUGE slap in my face everytime I read it, because it is entirely correct, yet you won't let me play with my friends.

I am not interested in playing an MMO on a server by myself.

Please let me know what to do...

- Create on low pop server now and I will be able to transfer to my friends server, Leviathan, soon?
- Continue to wait and refresh the World list waiting for Leviathan to open up?
- Return game to Amazon and get refund?

PLEASE HELP THIS IS DRIVING ME NUTS!!!!!!!

Here is the reply I got when I sent in an email about it:

Thank you for contacting us regarding a desired server being unavailable for character creation. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused for you and realize this can be very upsetting and frustrating. Unfortunately, if you are unable to create a character on a desired server, character creation on that server has been limited. We ask that you please create a character on a different server or try again later. There have been no announcements regarding when certain servers will be open for character creation.

Such a generic reply... such a huge mistake not having a World Pass or some way for friends to be invited to servers from the start. I have to believe they realize they missed big on this one and I wish they would just tell me what I'm suppose to do. "Create on a different server" is not an option

Feel the exact same way. Been trying to get on Leviathan ever since I finally got my early access code to work. Don't want to start a character on another server only to do everything all over again.

I have a friend in the exact same situation as you. The only way our large group of friends can play with him currently is to drop our 50+ hours of progress from phase 4 and early access and make new characters.

It is kind of sad though, the game already got screwed up once and got remade, doing things like limiting game server access when everyone wants to play together isn't a good start.

We paid for the game so we expect to get in a server of our choice.

How it should be: when the server is 75% full (or whatever number <100% that might be) the server gets greyed out. But anyone on that server can send a code to a friend that will allow them to create a character on that server. Problem solved. I don't see how this could have been missed, especially with the description on the character select about playing with friends and not being able to move once you select a server.

Maybe they should consider character transfer as well, which will help for a larger guild to make decision on transfering to another server.

Anyone able to create a character on Leviathan in the last 24 hours? I'm still refreshing and no luck.

We cannot even create second char on the same server, please correct me if i'm wrong.
