According to the lodestone the Official service has begun as of 5 PM Est. Sadly most of us have seen how Early access has gone. I think 8 hours of game play over 3 days is not what I or anyone else expected. Though 8 hours is more than most of my friends and Linkshell mates have had.

How does SE expect to keep its player base...let alone INCREASE the player base when we are all this frustrated. I am reminded of 1.0's failure as I am a Legacy member but 1.0 suffered from many issues and 2.0's issues are its own. This game is great. The service is horrid. NA/EU players would be outside SE's offices if we could get away long enough from our attempts at logging into servers without QUEUES to picket. Managing to get onto a server is akin to the lottery. Friends wanting to play together are forced to start up on Japanese servers. As of this posting all but 4 were open to New Chars while 2 were open for NA/EU.

Many are considering it and just transferring to a server together when its possible and with the server congestion cleared up...but why does it have to come to that? SE couldn't have seen this coming?

Sorry for the rant but a lifelong Final Fantasy player wants to know why after 1.0's failure SE didn't make sure...didn't make COMPLETELY SURE they were in a better position to prevent another catastrophe the likes of which 2.0 is seeing. People are frustrated. Kotaku.com has a review up already of the launch failure. Others will follow suit and the only impressing FF will be making in online games is...oh god another one?
