Request: Boot inactive players so active players can log in

So I got to log in and actually play the game today on the same server as my friends!!!! could not believe it... Played for about 3 hours and noticed several players chilling in one spot every time i passed by....They were all AFK HOLDING THEIR SPOT ON THE SERVER SINCE THEY MIGHT NOT GET TO LOG IN LATER! Kick afk players off the server and get the system in place ASAP. I personally bought the game and had hoped to have the 2-3 days to try it out before i subbed now i guess i will wait to give them any more money till i come back and only see people complaining about OP classes in pvp and bugged missions. SE TY for making me completely blah with your game thus far.

I just want to play. I am supposed to have vacationes next week, and has I see, there will still be problems next week.

The problem here are, indeed, AFK'ers. They exist right now because of the errors that happened before. ¿Why not kicking them out? Maybe that would even give us all a more stable server.

I would like to point out that booting AFK players may not actually resolve anything.

We don't know WHAT specifically is triggering the 1017 errors and queues.

The simple fact is that they may be monitoring performance counters or something along that line, then denying logon after thresholds are met. This would potentially explain why certain zones are going down, or getting booted during zone transfers.

Logged in players that are idling aren't taking up very many resources on the server.

Just something to think about...

To actually believe this you must not understand anything about how the client server model works for an MMO. Just because no commands are being sent by the player does not mean that there is no load caused by the character. There is ALWAYS server load caused by a character being logged in, from the so called 'stay alive' messages that go back and forth to the queries sent about character location and such by other players to the server everytime they need to load your worthless AFK butt.

Just cause you want SE to let you stay logged in forever doesn't make it a good idea to allow it in this game.

I have some friends who never log out because of that 1017. Secretly starting to resent them for it... Either SE needs to remove 1017 or remove the AFK'ers. I'm fine with either. Signed.

Totally agree with this..... idk why they wouldn't have implemented this from the very beginning or once they started having server full issues.

And WTF happened to the QUE system? The other i day i go to log in and i get in que and wait a few mins and get into game..... now its back to the same BS?

That's the thing, though. This game should not have left beta. Anyone who's actually gotten to play should see that it's not complete. At all.
