Request: Boot inactive players so active players can log in

Alot of players go afk ANYWHERE.. I see hundreds of them at night facing mountains in PvE areas lol.

Yeah but if they implement a AFK boot they will just hide in the inn rooms, if they add AFK boot they need to either add something specifically to boot anyone in the inn room after an hour of turn the inn room into more of a menu based interaction, without giving the option to move around inside, both Im assuming will be difficult to code into the game at this point in time, since it would basically be changing a major functionality, so ya I wouldn't hold my breath on a booter that actually works anytime soon :/

Actually, it is so easy to detect for constant input that this isn't an issue. SE just needs to treat constant input as no input. 30 min of running into a wall get's you booted the same as standing around for the same period of time.

Your current policy of never booting inactive players is causing many of the server stability issues that you are experiencing. Locking the servers so people who are actually at their keyboards can't log in is causing frustration and is not a resolution to the issue.

Boot players who are inactive longer than an hour. This will solve many of the problems.

I was just coming here to say this. Seriously, I have passed so many players who have not moved in FIVE HOURS. Servers are full and I can't log in to my main (the old 1017 demon) and had to create characters on another server just to play. I can't even CREATE characters on the server I intend to play on with my friends and haven't been able to since early access because people will not log out... and there are numerous threads on other gaming forums where people are bragging about staying logged in for days at a time, while at work, sleeping, you name it and encouraging others to do likewise--which is preventing players who are at the keyboard, legitimately playing the game from, you know, actually even getting logged in to play the game!

Come on, SE, this is common sense, and an hour is three times longer than the most generous inactivity timer. This is bloody ridiculous.

I finally logged on last night and found a multi-boxer standing in Limsa with 4 toons. (Same saved appearance, all same last name). After about 5 hours of playing, the 4 toons hadn't moved.

Please kick AFKers. Seriously, the decisions regarding server population are just mind boggling. No idle time out, and no queues. I know they have a queue system, I sat it in once. But they disabled it in favor of making users spam the login attempts.

No, you're wrong. I genuinely do want a system that will kick me out if I'm AFK. There are reasons someone would leave the computer, expecting to be away for a few moments, and not be able to return for hours. Life is crazy, and the rest of the folks playing on the same server should not be punished for that. I SHOULD be booted if I'm AFK. I WANT this feature. I can't believe they didn't implement it from the get go!

The one thing I hate in the gaming community is annoying over zealous 14 year olds. I also hate minecraft for being a breeding ground for said scum.

Obviously you abuse the current AFK system. Doing so does not help the situation at all. Maybe for you, but that's a pretty selfish thing to do. Instead you ruin the game for others by assuming you're more important than others. Sitting in game AFK for hours not playing is a dirtball move and people should be logged off after 30 mins AFK.

Do us all a favor and stay off the forums kid.

This is the most useless pap I have ever read. If they implemented this you sub-sentient collection of pond scum there would BE no login problem, or even if there still were it would be much reduced.
