"An Apology to Our Players Using NA/EU Data Centers
On behalf of the FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn Development Team, I would like to extend my deepest apologies to those Early Access participants who have had difficulty using the NA/EU data centers.

In response to a variety of issues, we have conducted emergency maintenance several times over the past few days. The first instance, which was conducted six hours following the beginning of early access, was for the purpose of addressing the errors 90000 and 3000, which were first discovered during phase 4 of the beta test.

Our server team then began taking measures to improve the performance of the lobby and duty finder servers. The subsequent emergency maintenance was necessary to implement their changes.

This maintenance proceeded as planned, and afterwards we verified that the stability of instanced battles and the duty finder was much improved. However, we then discovered that certain lobby servers had been improperly configured, and we were forced to conduct another brief maintenance to resolve this issue.

Although we have successfully addressed a number of serious issues in the past several days, we have nevertheless decided to implement login restrictions for the time being due to the extremely heavy load being placed upon the servers. In this way, we can ensure that the maximum number of players can play the game without risking a server crash. I know no one wants to wait to log in, but I hope you all understand why we believe this precaution is necessary.

Once again, I would like to sincerely apologize to all our players who have been unable to enjoy Early Access due to the tremendous congestion, the ensuing issues, and the frequent maintenance.

Everyone on the development and operations teams is dedicated to providing the best possible experience for our customers, and we will continue to do our utmost to resolve the remaining and any future issues.

SO, someone who goes out and buys the game at this point, won't be able to play...because we all know that if you're in....you're not logging out...to bypass this BS. I can't believe their "fix" for the server congestion at launch, is to continue to throttle the number of people able to log in... Just wow... for a team supposedly so "brilliant" that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. Don't add new servers, let people move, etc....just...limit who can log on... no big deal...right.

Yep. It's only going to get better with the influx of new players joining tomorrow. They will probably start locking people out before they can even get to the character creator. Sounds like the next logical step.

Worst MMO launch ever. Seriously. Even Anarchy Online was better, and it held the record for 12 years. There have been so many successful MMOs with 200k+ players on launch week that have had no problems preventing gameplay. Why can't a giant company like Square Enix make it to the middle of the pack? Sad.

I logged in and tried to create a new character just for grins. There are only 2 servers that are accepting new characters right now. That will be gone likely by tonight.

What's worse, people are probably going to want to join specific servers to play with friends. What then? Yep, I've been through alot of horrible launches, but this one takes the cake.

The ONLY thing we want to know at this point Yoshi is will the login restraints remain? If so, then how long or is it indefinite? If not, then when will they be corrected? The answer that you people have come up with to restrict login's is just beyond ridiculous at this point. Obviously the servers are not large enough to handle the number of players YOU allowed to be created on them. What do ya think is going to happen at Launch time? We players will only be able to log in rarely. We need concrete answers, no answer from the dev team just makes us players that have stuck it out thru all be beta phases and early access feel unimportant, frustrated and duped. Your timely response would be appreciated. Of course as I attempt to log in once again....1017

Here's what we do Everyone that cant log in we all find one JP server and blitz it or we all just blitz all the JP servers cause once those go down or get to congested then SE will care.
