Normal Server Queues

Why can't we just have normal server queues like every other game instead of this 1017 crap? Even if the queues were an hour long, at least we wouldn't have to hammer the system.

Agreed. The absolute worst mistake they've made in all of this is not adopting an industry-wide standard. Queues save server stress, they relieve player anxiety, and they generally make the situation infinitely better.

Remove the 1017 error and put is in a queue.

I was in a queue...#15. Then I got booted. Seriously...this is annoying. I'm on vacation. I was able to log in around noon today, but I had to go pick up my car because it was getting fixed. I logged out...and now I can't get back in. I'd be FINE if I were in a queue, even for 2 freaking hours. At least I'd be in a queue...

Yes, I'd like to see a single response regarding the logic of this reject connection opposed to queue decision.

There doesn't seem to be a single reason as to why this is a GOOD thing.

Even when they have queues up it doesn't seem to really mean anything. I was 430ish in a queue last night, it changed twice to 419 then to 406 then it just kicked me out of the queue and told me the server was full.

I'm not one to throw a tantrum over something like this, as I know SE is working on the issues, but it is getting a little frustrating.

Their reasoning behind it is that they're trying to keep server populations low for the time being until they can get the environment stabilized. I understand and sympathize with your frustrations, but they've made this very clear. Having a QUEUE whether or not you want to believe it does add to the server traffic itself.

Just know that a queue in software development is similar to a line in a grocery store. If there was a constant line way backed up they wouldn't have a chance to get things situated because they're constantly helping customers while trying to do work on their register or whatever. Whatever analogy you want to use, should help you understand.

I agree. I wish it wasn't that way. I hate retrying over the duration of 1-2 hours just to get into my server. Bummer.

F*ck this 1017 crap. Spend a dime SE, expand your servers. Thats why the rework of a shitty game in the first place...to get more players.

Amen to the OP. Even if the queue is like 5000, at least I can go do something else and get an idea of how long I'd have to wait to play instead of spamming the X button on my controller repeatedly.
