Does SE actually ban botters?

Ive been seeing the same 4-5 people craft botting in Limsa on my server for a few months now. I havent reported them yet but I have kinda been thinking about it more and more lately. Does SE investigate and actually ban botters (if the person is found to be a bot)? or is it just a waste of time?

I think it takes a while to investigate each individual -- So I've been told.

I agree I just wanted to know if I should actually bother reporting them or if its just a waste of time.

it's a waste...since they probably aren't really botting...

I have considered this point and the way I look at it is if I am wrong they can simply tell the GM "No sir Mr. Officer im not botting" and it will all be cleared up. I actually hope I am wrong.

There are other tools but R1 tools? Woha, really? Awesome!
I'm just around lvl 19 though, but I think I should really start to search for those awesome new tools so I'm not considered a bot user when I lvl up

Lots of people just don't know better, so please don't jump to conclusions because of something like that.


Oh, and about the calculation Hotohori did:

That would imply they only take 2.2 minutes per levequest, including getting the levequests, running to the location, starting them, getting rewards, etc.
TWO minutes. Even if bots are able to run over hills I'm not able to, this is just impossible.
So please tone your calculation a whole lot down, bots' influence is not nearly as bad as your calculation makes it seem to be.

I will fraps videos if they need proof. Botters creep me out, you can tell there lifeless, and we can take pics of them janking up hills. I don't understand how they don't know what piece of script their manipulating to be able to jank up hills we can't, that would be a first fix, because being able to move in ways an un-botted character moves is an unfair advantage in claiming mobs. I've seen a lot of these bots, and I don't know if its due to lag but some looked like they were claiming the mob before it spawned; I know these bots existed in XI, not sure if its what I saw in XIV, again could be lag, but it appeared that way. I would like to see some evidence that they care about this, in a game where gil is easy to get the bots just sicken me and SE should want to appease their fanbase by banning them. I do understand if they're spread thin though at the moment.
