PS3 Chatbox elements resizing

By elements resizing, I don't mean the L1+R3 mouse mode maneuver of changing just the text field size. I mean the same style as going into HUD Layout and clicking R3 on an element to change the entire size of it.

Is there any way to do this? If not, is there any way to make the font size even smaller than 12? I still find the chatbox rather large and intrusive on the PS3, any help would be appreciated.

....Hell, maybe some option I missed to hide the chatbox entirely?

Even for PC the minimum font size is 12. I admit, I'd also prefer 10pt, but dragging it out of the way by grabbing the General Tab and pulling has helped my UI to be closer to my personal preferences. I don't expect it to be perfect until 3rd party software gets developed.

That's unfortunate.....

It'd at least be nice if there was some option to make the background on it entirely transparent, or even the text transparent when it hasn't been used for a while.
