I'm getting ready to buy a new video card and a Shield as well. For those already using it, do you have any picutures of your current HUD display on the Shield itslef? I'm curious as to what layouts people are liking with the smaller screen.

I'm really hoping to be doing something similar with the PS4/Vita combo next year.
what is nvidia shield and how do oi get it?

I think on the first page there is a link to a youtube video with someone showing it in action with ARR. In a nutshell it is a controller with a 5 inch screen on it made by NVIDIA. It runs android games and can be used to stream PC games onto it on a WIFI network. Think of it like the PC version of remote play. For more details I'd recommend NVIDIA's website.
There are some system requirements for it (such as networking needs and certain video cards), so keep that in mind if you are wanting to purchase.

I been using the shield and playing ff14 for over a week now. Works flawless. I play for a couple hours everyday and it holds up well. Best part is you can change in-game screen resolution and make the words bigger on the shield. UI parts can be enlarged and seeing everything on the screen is NOT a problem.
Shield has a popup onscreen touch keyboard for typing and also a onscreen touchscreen mouse pointer.

I can second this. Got the shield this weekend and it has been great. I've been able to take it as far as outside onto my deck and play out there. The only problem I have is occassionally dropping connection to my router, or some slowdown. This is all network related on my end though as I have not yet optimzed my WIFI channels.I been using the shield and playing ff14 for over a week now. Works flawless. I am definately glad I purchased this.

Yea I use it as a second screen when I play on my big screen tv. I use the popup keyboard on the shield for quick access to inventory and such. I re-mapped some stuff to directional keys like hiding the UII can second this. Got the shield this weekend and it has been great. Question, using the Steam can you play FFXIV using a Radeon card? i was reading that you needed to have an Nvidia card to stream from the PC to the shield but if you are using the steam app on the shield are you able to still play it? Sorry if that is a dumb question, never used shield so i'm not sure how it works.
