Bingo.
It's even worse when those casual players complain in derogatory manners about how since they don't have as much time to play because they're out there working for a living that they should get a break.not all of them are asking for handouts
but several of them, if not most of them are
Ive scanned alot of posts complaining about how hard it is to level unless your hardcore, followed by they should make it easier for casuals
cuz its not fair that hardcores can level faster
or that they have access to endgame stuff as early
or that they have more money from grinding more mobs
alot of these things are things that CAN NOT BE CHANGED no matter what you do, hardcores will always have the advantage, yet these are some of the most complained about things in casual vs hardcore
things that do matter and dont affect either
lower spawn times on NMs
the ability to buy endgame gear
behests
guildleves for bonus sp that dont require you to play 24/7
those can be improved on to cater to both crowds
I Think the issue is most "hardcore" (whatever that means in this game) players lump all the casual together. I mean I play casual but I fully support hardcore play styles and the ability to enjoy aspects of MMOs that casual can not. That doesnt mean a game needs to cater to one or the other, the most successful of MMOs will be one that can cater to both.
And sorry this thread was way to long to read through all the posts if this has been mentioned before. Also why was the other thread closed about hardcore and this one remained open? They should both be closed I highly doubt anything good can come from either.
simple fact SE is going to ignore those who want challenge. Hand holding is easier to put in.
I rip the axe from the head Covered in blood and brains Leave the body lying dead Ready to strike again
My sword cuts through clothes and skin Like a hot knife cuts through snow I smile as the bastard screams When I twist my sword
Sword in my hand Axe on my side Valhalla awaits me Soon I will die Bear skin on my back Wolf jaw on my head Valhalla awaits me When I'm dead
Viking Job Please!
To me, hardcore players have a right to have the best stuff and higher ranks/levels in a short time because they have the time to dedicate to a game. On the other hand, if your a causal player and use time efficiency wisely, you can be just as good as that hardcore player tho it may take double or even triple the time but who cares right? It's not like we're running a race, we are just here to enjoy the game regardless of how well leveled we are or how good our gear is. I do realize that some or maybe alot of people can't concur with this statement but it's just IMO.
what this thread has come down to is actualy the opposite of what you saidI Think the issue is most "hardcore" (whatever that means in this game) players lump all the casual together. its a bunch of casuals complaining and clumping together what hardcores think and totaly ignoring anything but their own selfish whims thinking everything should be how they want it
hardcores want something
casuals tell them they arent allowed to have it
hardcores tell casuals they can keep their stuff, but they want something too
casuals tell them to get bent and that they will never get it cuz they dont matter
this is pretty much what this thread degenerated into long ago

THIS!!!! It doesnt matter how long it takes to end game stuff. What does matter is if the content in-game is challenging. MMO's are purposefully designed to take a long time. It keeps subscriptions and it allows players to find like leveled players to join with.To me, hardcore players have a right to have the best stuff and higher ranks/levels in a short time because they have the time to dedicate to a game. On the other hand, if your a causal player and use time efficiency wisely, you can be just as good as that hardcore player tho it may take double or even triple the time but who cares right? There is no reason we cannot have challenging content which can cater for both. Hardcore from what the forums seems to mean is, playing for longer stretches of time.
Obviously, they will get things sooner than people who play for less time. But the people who play less WILL get there. So why on earth can we not have some great, nail biting and challenging content? It will be accessable to all. I fail to see how ANYTHING cannot be accessable to anyone.
For example: to lets say get the "super shiney equiptment with go faster stripes and a picture of a dragon on it rwaaaaw" you need to go through a dungeon. In order to make this dungeon challenging AND cater for all players. Say, this dungeon needs 3 keys to open it, each key is in a seperate dungeon.
That way, it still has something to get involved in, and it gives reasonable play-time breaks for people with less time to play. A dungeon a day, starting monday...You'll be with your super-dooper equiptment by end of day, thursday

you know that isn't true 80% of the casual side want challenging content they can access. That hard core want seperated content.what this thread has come down to is actualy the opposite of what you said

All of this crap needs to stop. There are not "hardcore" players and there no "casual" players. There are only players. What separates us is the amount of time that we put into the game. "I have more time to waste on a video game. I'm so hardcore!" No, you just have more time to waste. "I have a life so I guess I'm casual." No, you just have a very busy life. This the only separation and it's not even a big separation. All of this mindless fighting, from both sides, needs to stop. It's horrible...
Healer strike is ridiculously foolish and accomplishes nothing
