Says right there that certain lobby servers have been misconfigured. Considering that it's a different datacenter and knowing that this is a semi-frequent issue with all global software, it's pretty safe to assume that it's more than just "lobby servers" that have been misconfigured. Improper server configuration is not an easy fix at all, and it can range from difficult to fix to completely catastrophic.

I guess I dismissed that statement because the "reconfiguration" didn't fix the issue.

I can't say what capacity they're working in or the full extent of the misconfigurations, but I can basically guarantee that they either didn't fix every server machine or their fix is wrong (but they can't come out to say that).

OP, I'm with you. There needs to be an explanation as to why the NA/EU Datacenter is so much more unstable than the JP one. There also needs to be a path forward. More servers? More competent employees? Scare away new customers with constant server crashes? Which is itit Yoshi?

Hopefully since it's Monday, as opposed to the weekend, they're at full capacity to resolve the issues before the official launch tonight.

More competent employees probably, and (again without fully knowing, but guessing) spreading the whole team globally. I get the distinct feeling that whoever is doing work in the Toronto datacenter is only getting instructions from the dudes in Japan, and doesn't actually know what's wrong or how to fix it.

Was able to log on just now and the queue system was working. Let's see how this goes the rest of the day.

The JP data centers have been around since alpha of 1.0. We had the same issues with the servers messing up/login issues back then when the servers were new. I was locked out of Mysidia for 3 days (just like people are now) because of overcrowding and log in issues. They have had more time to make them stable.

The NA/EU data center is new, has only been up for a few months and is still being worked on. They fixed the JP issues back in 1.0, they will fix the NA/EU issues now.

Also remember, the Japanese aren't as open as say America. They don't come out and take about their issues and make a big deal about it. If he says they are working on it, then they are working on it. Yoshi's probably a lot more stressed out over this then we are. This is a game for us, this is a JOB for him and SE is probably breathing down his neck to get this fixed.

They have six more servers than NA/EU with a lower player population.

Why not spin up more NA/EU servers to relieve some of the load? When it comes to cost of development and distribution, hardware is relatively cheap.
They forgot to carry the 1 when they calculated the demand in the NA region, they aren't going to admit to that.

    Apologize not accepted.

Why no login Queues? Why make us press Start and our Character name 5000 times?

Why no compensation for not being able to play?
