I see what you're saying but if they do have databases that buckle under that kind of load, more servers would at least be a temporary fix to allow players to enjoy the game while they work on a permanent fix.

But people are ALREADY crying that they can't stuff everyone in a single server!
You need to remember that 'adding more servers' in an MMO means adding more worlds. Adding more worlds will just cause people to cry even more "But I can't play with my friends!"
