    Registering CE on PS3 help

I got my physical copy today and I put my registration code in on the playstation store in the redeem codes area and it prompted me with a game download. Should I download this even if I have the early access/phase4 client still? Also upon logging into account management it is still giving me the option to upgrade to collectors edition which makes sense because entering the code alone did not link my se account to the code.. What do I do lol

Don't download. Just make sure you DON'T create a new account and just match it to the current Account you have with SE. You can use your Beta 4 client to continue play the game.

Ah ok I got it. The next time you log in it prompts you to activate it.

You won't need to redownload the client.

Setup will continue upon first login into the PS3 client.

You will be given the option to select PS3 CE version or Preorder code, if you have one added. Select to continue.

Upon selecting, you will have the option to select which Service Account you would like to apply it. Either an existing account or you can create a new account.

If you are creating a new service account, it is pretty straight forward. Just follow the prompts.

If you currently have an Active PC account and would like to apply make sure the radio button for that is selected.

Very Important Note: If you are applying the PS3 CE to an existing PC Service account. Make sure you do NOT accidentally hit the Create a New Service Account button. Scroll down further to access the Next Button. For some reason, the formatting they used was off and the Create a New Service account appears at the bottom of the screen. You must Scroll down further to see the other buttons.

I accidentally did this with my Beta 4 registration. Glad it wasn't on the Live registration.

Once, Next is selected, you will receive a confirmation page showing that you will applying the PS3 CE code to an existing account. If there is an error, select back. If not, just finish up.

I can't seem to link my PS3 copy to another PSN account than the initial one where I did.

has anyone done this? Any tips?
And I'm still wondering how to do this.

I am assuming you are log in on the PS3 version using another account.

PS3 Registration codes are tied to both the PSN account and the SE Service account.

Once Logged into PSN, This can be seen under the Account Management > Service list > FFXIV > Standard/CE. This is the reason you are required to be logged into your PSN account when you register for the first time.

When logging in on the PS3, the FFXIV client checks the PSN account to see if there a copy of PS3 has been registered to the PSN account. If not, the FFXIV client will refuse to run. If there is, then the client will load to the SE login page.

A secondary check is ran after you successfully log in. After clicking START at the title screen, the SE servers check to see that you are logging in on a PS3 or PC, a check is run on your Service Account to see if you have activated a code the respective Platform you are trying to log in under.

So, in short, each PSN account attempting to access the FFXIV Client must have a FFXIV PS3 code registered to the PSN account in order for the client to run.

    Hope that helps.

In short, if you want to register the 12 digit code you got (which grants you 30 days) you need to do this:

    1. Go to Account Management on your PS3.
    2. Select Redeem Code.
    3. Enter the 12 digit code (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX)
    4. Then press continue until you reach the message "Thank you for using the Playstation Network" or something to that regard.
    5. The next step is key. If you have the client downloaded, enter it and log in. You will be prompted to accept the agreement. Do so.
    6. Check if everything you should be having is valid.
    7. If you want to continue to use the characters and the benefits from Phase 4/Early Access onwards, do NOT click to create a new service account. Just click "Next" under it.
    8. It should say you are registering the PS3 version of the game.
    9. Finish the process and voila - 30 days registered.

Come, read to me some poem, some simple and heartfelt lay, that shall soothe this restless feeling, and banish the thoughts of day.
