Please Implement a standard Auction House

So what we currently have mimics an auction house yet is inferior to an Auction House in function..

The process to using the market system is more cumbersome than it needs to be, having to create an retainer then summon him every time you want to make changes finding the summoning bell can be a chore amongst big crowds...

The primary problem I have is running back and forth from the boards and summoning the retainer to compare prices and set mine accordingly, even then dismissing the retainer is slow and annoying because he feels the need pop up a speech bubble when dismissed.

If all that isn't enough, how about the feel of an AH? In my opinion a standard AH really adds to the feel of the game...

I agree I find retainers in 2.0 just like in 1.0 just a chore and inferior to FFXI auction house.

ummmm you don't have to run back and forth actually....

if you right click the item you want to sell in your retainers inventory and click "sell" there is a little box in the upper right portion of the box where it has you set the price and number in the stack. When you mouse over the box it says "view market history" or something like that. When you click it, it will show you the prices of current listings.

I don't think it's bad.

Each retainer comes with 7 tabs of storage and gil pocket. Also, stuff you purchase from the board goes directly to your inventory, you don't need to reach a mailbox or your retainer for that.

I think the game needs buy orders, it only makes sense to tell your retainer to also buy stuff at price X, it has its own inventory and gil pocket.

SE need to make the price history button more obvious, it seems a lot of people are missing it/ignoring it.

I like the way the retainers are set up now, but they should allow players to be able to sell at the marketboards as well.

Seriously? How about you pay attention to the Active Help screens when they come up! They explain how to use retainers, and how to sell items on the market. They also explain how to check prices as you list items as well.....some people, sweet jesus.

As far as the ffxi vs ffxiv ah goes, get over it, its not the same game. The new market system functions very well, its fast, robust, easy to use, connect all cities, helps eliminate market manipulation. Better than ffxi's AH and MUCH better than the 1.0 Ward system.

btw there's also a summoning bell in your inn room as well. And I wont be surprised if there will be a summoning bell in your house when housing gets released. Personally I like the retainers its something different then the usual run to AH and back to mailbox process we have in other mmo's plus using it as extra storage is nice too.

god so many steps just to put some thing up on the market.... I hated this in 1.0 and its the same thing... all they added was a history list
