It seems to me that a gradual recovery from being dead would be useful, rather than going from weak to full strength instantly.

As an off the top of my head suggestion:

Right after you die, you have a 100% acc loss and 50% hp that gradually wears off until at 3 minutes (or whatever) you're at full. If you're passive/resting you'll probably get your hp back as as you recover, instead of having to wait a bit more, despite the fact that you're 'better'.

I'd keep the current stamina/recast penalties.
