Job quest class requirements

Hello all! I had a difficult time hunting down the new job quest class level requirements for my LS mates and as I didn't see this posted here yet, I thought I'd share it here as well. Thank you XIV reddit for original information!

The job quests will be available at the class guild after completing the previous class quests. Following class levels are required for each job:

• Bard = 30 Archer / 15 Pugilist
• Summoner = 30 Arcanist / 15 Thaumaturge
• Scholar = 30 Arcanist / 15 Conjurer
• Dragoon = 30 Lancer / 15 Marauder
• Black Mage = 30 Thaumaturge / 15 Archer
• White Mage = 30 Conjurer / 15 Arcanist
• Monk = 30 Pugilist / 15 Lancer
• Warrior = 30 Marauder / 15 Gladiator
• Paladin = 30 Gladiator / 15 Conjurer

And here's a list of jobs and their both subclasses:

• Bard (Archer): Pugilist, Lancer
• Summoner (Arcanist): Thaumaturge, Archer
• Scholar (Arcanist): Conjurer, Thaumaturge
• Dragoon (Lancer): Marauder, Pugilist

Pretty sure BLM's unlocking subclass is ACN not ARC

Now that's a slap in the face they give that Arcanist class Carby which should be a Summons and they make you level level Arcanist to open Summoner job??........Sad day!

No. It is 100% ARCHER

Both ACN and ARC are BLM subclasses but ARC is the one required for the quest according to the reddit thread I got this info from. This was posted there as proof:

Oh well, my source was wrong. On the bright side, you need ARC and ACN both anyways to get all your cross skills.

Secondly, could you please explain what is meant by subclasses? There are no subjobs in this game like there were in FFXI, right? Is this just the classes whose skills you can use? I.e. as a white mage, I would be able to use skills from arcanist & thaumaturge?

In XIV, each job has a base class (like Conjurer for White Mage or Pugilist for Monk) and two subclasses. Compared to the base class, each job gets stat boosts and special job abilities, but they can only pick cross-class skills from their two subclasses (5 skills total) instead of picking them from all the classes. So yes, as a White Mage, in addition to WHM and CNJ abilities, you'd get to pick 5 cross-class abilities from THM and ACN. Hope this clears it up!

What level does the third sub-class need to be?

In my case Monk:
Level 30 Pugilist
Level 15 Lancer
Level ? Marauder?
