It's clearly an issue with different televisions, yes. Which is why NEARLY ALL games make you adjust your display before you are even able to do anything or at least have that option within their settings.
While I believe most already tried this, my screen had some parts cropped out, and this was solved by changing the tv's widescreen setup (changing my PS3 setup or my game's setup didn't work). My tv has two types of widescreen configurations and other 2 non-widescreen ones, I kept changing it until I got the whole screen perfectly fit and I had no cropped edges. I didn't change the resolution on my TV either.
I am not at home right now to write the setup that worked for me, but if anyone that is having this problem hadn't tried that before it is worth it.
I too have the same crop screen problem. It is at a disadvantage especially during dungeon instances not able to see the all the party members and creatures.
Any word on an upcoming fix yet? Or at least recognition of the problem?
Kinda same problem but not much...They fixed an inital problem, where my TV is too small, so things are mega clutter and had it for HDMI. They fixed that but eh.
Then again my TV is too small lol. I just want a damn option to remove chat or some shit for a while.
The chatbox is my main problem here.
They fixed nothing. There has been no fix for the initial problem outlined by my original post in this thread.
I'd like to know if this issue is only existent with large (46" and up I guess?) televisions or if it affects all sizes.
Reason being because I currently play on a 37" LG LCD TV and it does not seem to have any issues, since day one even.
I at one point had my PS3 display settings to auto so it would switch between 1080 and 720 or even 480 so one day just to see if it made a difference in quality or stability, I limited the PS3 to 720 and this did not create any positive or negative effect.
So is this only on extra large LCD tv's or is my immunity to the issue merely an anomaly?
I don't think so, my tv is 32 inch and I have the overscan issue. When I log into the game through the PS3 the characters look very blurry, whether this is done by design to allow for the amount of players playing the game, I have no idea. But, to me the graphics on the PS3 are awful compared to other games I've played! I'm hoping that the PS4 will not have these issues as ffxiv and ffxv are the main reasons why I'm getting a PS4![]()
i was trying to fix the problem again, and i've realized that for me the issue isn't just with this game but with other PS3 stuff (in particular the PSN store). over there, the menu bar for Enter Back etc, is visually cropped off on both left and right.. which is the same as what I'm getting in XIV.. so if that problem exists for you too maybe its a common problem.
i find it odd that it may be a hardware issue.. because I had absolutely no problems when i used the same TV (LG 32LC7R) with the PS3 phat. i've only noticed this on my super slim, which i also incidentally got for XIV ARR so i've no idea if other games are affected as yet
This is not a common problem, as this is the only game I've had the issue with, and also had no option to alleviate the issue. I will check out the PSN store though to confirm. I think it's funny that even game demos address this issue. I downloaded the Diablo III demo and the first thing that appeared after launching the demo the first time was a mandatory screen to fit the game picture to my TV screen.i was trying to fix the problem again, and i've realized that for me the issue isn't just with this game but with other PS3 stuff (in particular the PSN store). over there, the menu bar for Enter Back etc, is visually cropped off on both left and right.. which is the same as what I'm getting in XIV.. so if that problem exists for you too maybe its a common problem.
