    FF games are not based on WOW-like stats where players get asinine stats like 100ks HPs, the combat mechanics in FFs don't rely on mega-stupid numbers. +1, +2 are there to pander to the mix/maxers, which is great, the game doesn't rely no your having HQ gear or GTFO, unlike WOW etc.

    I don't believe that's the point. Adding +1 or +2 to a stat is perfectly fine to keep the numbers low. What is not fine, and quite frankly boring (in my opinion of course) is when that's all the stat an item contains. "Hurray! Armor! This breastplate with 50 def and 7 vit is far superior to the previous breastplate of 49 def and 6 vit". What the thread hints at are enhancements to JAs, to JTs, to combat strategy, not simply "STR good. Add STR".
    Hypothetical example: a choice between random linen hat that has 10 MND for cnjr, or Whm AF that has 8 MND, 20 mp, and 'enhances cure potency'. One is boring, the other is not.
