    During beta and a little after release there was a program that let you go fullscreen and alt tab, unfortunately SE sent them a cease and desist letter which forced the author to remove it.

    The main reason this is needed is because crossfirex and sli will only work in fullscreen, and alt-tab from full screen is standard these days mainly because of thse technologies. I think this should be added as soon as possible and it should be a reletively small change.
