Windowed mode is not an answer, it's pretty absurd for a game to crash when tabbed out in fullscreen. There are performance benefits of running in fullscreen, additionally, the game has no control over your screen's gamma when running windowed. The idea that accidentally hitting the windows key or needing to check something on the same PC would crash the game...

The game needs to be able to handle being tabbed out of, plain and simple. Fullscreen (Windowed) is not the same thing, but it is equally necessary. Not having either is embarrassing.

But... It's a great way to close the game.
