I don't think it is a technical problem at all, it's just some weird policy at SE not to allow alt+tab.
Every game in the world that goes out on the market these days allow users to do so, you gotta live with your time SE.

why dont we have alt tab yet?

Full screen with Alt+Tab not crashing the game yes please.
I want to be able to have FFXI, FFXIV, Daiblo 3, WoW all open at the same time so I can play whichever one I wish at whatever time.
You guys need to check out ShiftWindow.
Borderless Windowed mode is a must.
The very existence of FFXIV depends on whether or not this feature is in 2.0.
This issue is already confirmed to be corrected in 2.0. Yoshi himself said it should never have been an issue to begin with.

Windowed is horrible I don't understand how people can use it but to each his own lol. Having the alt tab option would be awesome, and I agree it shouldn't have been a problem to begin with. Right now I use steam to play XIV and u can alt tab using that. But if the overlay crashes, your screwed and have to relog and you also cant access anything on your comp except the browser.

I support, I love playing in Fullscreen. I don't like other things distracting me when playing.![]()

Hmm. Looks like I was a "victim" of necroposting.
In any case, I am glad 2.0 will have Alt+Tab.
Even though I wanted it a year ago.
