    Why There Are A Shortage Of Tanks, 2 Fixes

    Do one dungeon on a tank class and you'll instantly know why tanks are in shortage.

    Fix 1) Make any DPS that pulls hate on mobs you flash instantly get killed. Archers, I'm looking at you...

    Fix 2) Instead of Fluid Aura knocking the mob back (and that move emerald carb does) Make it knock the player back instead of the mob.


    I'm kinda kidding on Fix 1, but seriously; people can't read a simple 1,2,3 order, and there's always that DPS who knows better.
    All it takes is one jackass kiting mob 3 while the rest are on mob 1 to make me question "why am I leveling this class again?"
    It seems like there's just not enough penalty for these people to not pull the mobs.

    Really makes me miss the days in FFXI where if you pull something like that= death sentence. I guess I'll always have the memories.

    Or to quote the whm in my shell "OMG I just did Sastasha on GLD.. I'm NEVER using Fluid Aura again"

    I know it'll be better when I'm only doing FC events at 50, but jeeze.. Tanks get **** all over on the way if you're playing DF

    as a tank i get what you mean but if they make it too hard/scary or punishing nobody will want to do it, the dps will derp and die then its verbal hate for the tank/healer and the over sensitive x player leaves, the whole thing falls apart.

    keep the early game easy and over tune the end game to separate the apples from oranges

    theres always 10+~1 dps tank.heal/dps.dps ratio, at least and most know this so we ( they ) just deal with it.

    as Archer i take this personaly . on other hand i have deal with my friends (tank and healer), if i pull agro i will tank it, if other dps (usualy random) pull agro he tank it. I usualy copy/paste it on every dungeon and trust me it make wonders.

    the reason there are a lack of tanks is because the tank classes arnt fun to play and have hardly any true dmg migation or hp replenishing skills that actually work and matter. Also loot for the 2 tank classes suck as they cant need on alot of things they can use.

    they should give gld more aggro generating abilities or at least one that uses TP and ogcd...

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

    Never had a problem in a dungeon arise from using Fluid Aura.

    Is your conjurer in melee range or something? If the conjurer is standing back like they should be, guess where Fluid Aura knocks the mob? Right back to the tank.

    You can't just hit it mindlessly or yeah...derp. Forethought is everyone's friend.

    If you are talking about higher level instances that are difficult I can agree about DPS being annoying and pulling hate. However when we are talking about all the lower level dungeons I really don't care. As an arcanist I will make sure to DoT every single enemy because that is the fastest way of getting them all down, I don't care if I get hate or w/e and quite frankly the tank shouldn't either because it doesn't matter I won't die either way. Also this has nothing to do with it, but SE should really really lift restrictions on how many you need to enter, I would have so much more fun going in solo or duo and trying to do the lower level instances than be four people and just run through it as if it it was nothing.
