Why is it the JP servers work great and NA/EU servers are tanking?

I've been able to play on a JP server perfectly, not an issue at all, however I try to log on my 28 mrd on Diabolos and I cant do it because the servers are full? There seems to be just as many JP players on that server, if not more in the towns than on our server, so how is it they're not suffering as we are?

As if that isnt favoritism. For a company as large as SE, I'd expect more.

My wife and I have been playing on a JP server today, due to the lack of working NA servers, regardless of where we originally placed our NA characters. Playing on a JP server has been a great experience. I think we will just move on the JP server. No since in banging my head against the bricks. If you guys are done fussing with the NA/EU server, hop on JP.

I too had no troubles with the JP servers, just didn't want to start all over. A server transfer would be groovy, however I got 90K'd shortly after being able to get in so cannot log in to any characters until after the next maintenance.

Well there's a lot more servers for JP than there are for NA and EU. That might be part of it.

Shouldn't that tell SE to put more servers in place? I don't know about you, but I work in IT, and to configure a server and get it running should take no more than 24 hours, and 1 datacenter server could hold information for 5 or more "servers" in game. My point is, the 10102 errors and the 90k errors are caused by major malfunction between the login, world, and game servers. same with the current mishaps with instances. Is the problem easily resolved? No, however with a team of experts and a budget as large as SE has, this shouldn't be a hassle, or even sweat off their business model. I'm concerned for what is going to happen tuesday, especially since they seem to not be able to get this under control now.

Frankly, the fact that Square-Enix has perfectly working JP servers and non-working NA/EU servers points to nothing short of blatant racism. Out of the 36 hours of Early Access, I have been able to play not even 5 of them. I love this game and am a patient man but my patience is wearing very, very thin.

I guess there are 2 reasons:

1. there are same number of servers for Japan as there are for EU/NA combined, and as we all know, Japan is way less populated than EU/NA.

2. all this time we've been having server side problems (hence why JPN servers are fine), therefore people running the EU/NA servers aren't doing a good job, whether that's because they're dumb or somehow Japan HQ couldn't communicate to them how to run a MMO server, I don't know. the latter seems more likely.

NA eu servers are in canada where there head office is, jp ones are at other head office..... Obviously canadian servers arent able to handle the stress. Jp has a much larger market, the NA market for servers is normally california, not really that big of a market in canada for servers of this kind so there probably just not strong enough.

NA has DOUBLE the JP players.

It's actually quite racist that they have the same servers as NA/EU...they care more about Japanese people than the rest it seems.

The servers are in Quebec, where some of the best computer minds in the world work out of. I am sure it is not a competence problem, it is simply the fault of Square for not alloting enough servers to start with. if Japan has 25 and you wish to keep the ratio, Europe-NA should have 250

Japan has a population of 120 million, and Europe-NA has 1.2 billion combined.
