Idle check. We need to talk about it.

Square Enix, you got to implement a system that will boot players for idling for to long. They're not playing the game, they're just taking up space that can be used by someone else that wants to play.

I propose this plan:

1. AFK for one hour, you get marked for idle. The player is notified with a message.

2. If the player is still AFK (after getting the idle warning) after 5mins they'll automatically be logged off.

3. If the player has been playing for three hours none stop, they'll get a message suggesting that they should take a fifteen minuet break for health reasons.


This feature should be on at all times.

This should not be toggled on and off. This feature should be on at all times.

Shouldn't it be the other way around? Don't move for 5 minutes you go afk, afk for an hour you get logged off? Well either way I agree. Something needs to be added for sure.

Don't move for 5 minutes you go afk? People can find a way to prevent it: you run your character to the corner and turn on auto-run before you go afk.

I say we need more servers!

An hour is way too much time. Cut that down to 5-15. Even if the servers were fine, that's the limit I think needs to be enforced.

1. Yes, if you sit afk an hour while doing other stuff while others are trying to get in, yes you should get kicked.

2. Takes you an hour to go to the bathroom and get a drink? If so, then yes to that too.

I never said 5 minutes, someone else did. And yes, 5 minutes is way too short of a time. I also think an hour is actually too long. I'd say 30 minutes is good if you give a 5 minute warning after the 30 min time frame.

Getting booted after being afk for an hour sounds reasonable. Definitely better than the situation now where you can afk forever. I forgot and left my character logged in once in a previous phase and when I came back she was still in-game and this was close to a 24 hour period. Crazy.
