I like this idea. It enables players to have uniqueness to their gear. I would like to see the results of adding this to the game.

Loving the idea, extremely FF, which this game NEEDS badly^^ ... remember they mentioned traits too, not just stats :P Would be much better than enchanting or other such systems imo :P

in ff7 materia will give us state bounce, skill and abillty.
but we already have skill and abillty from class job so I think that
they will only give us state bounce

They said the name materia may change but i think it's smart calling it that, anything that reminds people of another FF game can only help make XIV feel more like a true FF.
