hence you would be using your gimped attachment gear most of the time rather than your god armor of the heavens. It makes a lot of sense while your leveling, to give your new gear some boost from your old, but high level, it means wear gimp gear, equip god gear for boss only maybe.

soooo they got to figure how to balance that urge
And when doing leve's does it really matter what gear you're wearing? or in behest does it really matter what you wear? when farming does it really matter what you wear? Those are the times someone can wear the gear they want to turn into materia. As far as the gear you want to attach said materia to is not your everyday gear to use on a sub level class anyways? This seems like an end game focus activity to take you rank 30-40 gear sets and convert those to materia to attach to your harlie's vest or buccaneers shirt or tricorn.

As well rank 50 is not the final rank in this game looking into the future so all that gear you wore for dungeons and the current "end game"activities you can then quper power to use on you're JSE or ranking gear for 50+ when the time comes.

Guys everyone keeps seeing only things from a limited perspective look at the possible growth of the system, in relation to the growth of the game.

@ peregrine I make more gil farming shards and gathering mats for crafter than doing anything else in game. by breaking the system into three distinct activities allows all professions in the game to take part in the economy. Battle classes to evolve gear into materia, gathers to get the binding ingredients, and crafters to put it together and sell. RMT is a problem we'll face when we get there and botters big deal they'll get dealt with when SE deals with them. Otherwise your other comments and ideas most of which I strongly agree with the conceptual understanding we have about this system. It does have some interesting possibilities available to devs and players alike.
