    Not necessarily. Magicite started in VI, was seen in XI, and XII as well. In all 3 games magicite functioned differently, so just because it shares the name doesnt mean it has to be exactly the same.

    And those extra stats can go a long way, doesnt just mean it'll be attributes though. Could have crit rate up, elemental attack added, absorb/defense for equipment, and more.

    Its not half assed in the least bit, since we will/already have classes and jobs with skills that unlock via level up or quests. Stats are very important in games like this as well...thats why we're in the predicament we're in now...stats not having any real discernible effect.
