Materia System

I dont know how i feel about turning my weapon into materia. I wanna keep my weapons and or armors. Now how about attaching an empty materia stone and letting it fill with attachment points from what you wear. You can only get one materia per armor u wear but u can trade it to someone else and they can make materia. Or can we know if the items gets destroyed or not when it gets converted?
