Without a doubt I am so for 24 hour HNMs and even 3-7 day respawns.

Player-skill wise they are not. But they have the patience and courage to go through this. That doesn't make a good player but it helps a good player to become even better. I also camped HNMs for years in FFXI to get items like e.body, ridill, dring and so on. Sometimes it's annoying to deal with competing ls/bots and droprates but after all it was fun, i don't regret it.
For those who dislike the timed respawn for HNM's Square Enix could add something like the VNM system we know from FFXI which would work very well in XIV's large areas.
Oh well, 24hr HNM....that's sooo 2005, can't wait for it![]()
You guys do know SE is lowering the Pop times of all NM's in XI to be lower then 24 hours? Even the oldbies like Argus might end up as 2-5 hour repops.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
I actually took the time to read every post in this thread and I have to say I am both amused and disgusted. The things i've read from Visch and his two groupies are just pathetic and have no place on this forum or any other, especially when the majority of the posts were insulting and personally attacking others. Grow up, seriously.
And another thing, I consider myself on the middleground between hardcore and casual since I spend a lot of time in this game (8-10 hours) and I still find the time to do activities in real life like go to school and hang out with friends. It's my personal opinion when I say I look down on those who prioritize video gaming over real life, which is beyond pathetic to me and is a sign of weakness and low self asteem. As in, "I will never amount to anything in the real world so i'll retreat to a virtual universe where I can be the best!"
Wait and see what happens, it's hours away
If you end up throwing your keyboard out the window, then get help and stop taking a game so serious
Whether we fell for this troll thread, added fuel into the flame, or went along with the ride; I would take these threads any freaking day than threads about missing genders or cosmetics.
Gosh darn it.
I'm with Nahaara. I picture these guys in the real world as the type that nobody really likes all that much, but falsely feel as if they demand respect successfully. But thats just me judging.
I can't believe anyone would have the audacity to say that someone else does not have a place here in this GAME that everyone has to (will be) pay(ing) the same amount to play. It's a sad day for their community.
All I want is balance. I loved playing ffxi and I'm determined to stick with xiv, but I'm older now. I have other focuses, such as my wife, my job, raising a family, contributing to society, etc. I don't have the time that I had in that game. I know that means I can't experience as much as the bunch that does. I can understand that and accept the consequences. But don't make those consequences take the joy out of the game for anyone.
If I don't have the time to camp the hardcore 24 hour 5-7 day spawn NMs for the elite gear, give me an only slightly weaker version that I can conceivably strive to attain. That way, the pathetic bunch that plays for the sole purpose of being better than those around them can feel good, but at least (gear-wise) they really are only slightly better, and I won't have to miss out on anything else I want to do in the game for not being geared properly.
But, more on topic, don't make the new NMs of the H style yet. That would be a mistake. We don't need endgame yet, even though quite a few uneducated loud-mouthed brats seem to think we do. Rank 50 is not the end of the game (See what I did there?). We've all seen and experienced the consequences of releasing things into this game (or the game itself) before they are ready to be released.
They're completely serious. All of their shell has that same mentality. They migrate around from MMO to MMO together because there's not enough of them left to have a voice otherwise. The last remnant fans of a phased out inferior product. We had the same kinds of players on XI. They left for Vanguard because FFXI was getting too casual. Lol how'd that turn out...
The inferiority in HNMs come from making the practical and technical aspects of doing the content the rate-limiting step to enjoying the content, or even participating at all.
The only consideration devs should give these people is difficult, challenging content. If they can't be happy with that without monopolizing arenas and keeping others from playing the diffcult content, there's no point in even acknowledging they exist. Chains of Promathia was their last shot at proving they had what it takes to lead the genre, and that expansion darn near killed FFXI as 75% of the player base never even used the content because it was so painful to access.
There are plenty of hardcore players who don't want their bizarre world, and their world has been proven to be inadequate to power a MMO.
No 3am camps. No 3 hour windows. No vokebotting 6-teams-on-1-NM countercamping bull****. Let those who can kill Nidhogg kill it. Let all those who can't wipe to it. Claiming it...camping it...dead entertainment forms tailored to players who nobody really wants, so they advocate content so obnoxious to everyone else that they become needed.
XIV will never be the game they keep looking for. Sooner or later they'll take the obvious hint that most of their Bluegartr clan did and move onto another MMO.

What's HNM/NM?
From what I've read it's a certain drop(s)?
o-o
HNM is a FFXI elitist's way of saying "The NMs we camp are better than the NMs scrubs do."
High notorious monsters, or Highly notorious monsters. They have higher endgame difficulty ratings and more imposing spawn conditions.
Mostly it's jus the spawn conditions. They're not that hard.
