The game isnt heading into a direction to cater big linkshells.Whatever i or you agree or not makes no difference. You should understand that most HNM ls's are very large, given some people play much more than others, but its not always the same people around the clock, they invite people in most timezones so its always there ls getting drops, they take care of there own.
Even though i would love 21-24hr respawns with 1hr windows, 3hrs wasnt bad either. Do you really think we sat there for 3hrs strait? Even though its a 3hr window total, the actual windows were 30min's appart, people would do homework/eat dinner/spend time with familly then for 2 min's watch the screen and pay attention, if something popped, they take 5-10min's to kill then do w/e.
I dont think ive seen the 30min windows mentioned once.
Look at the current changes, you will see what i mean.
You cant want the best gear in the game and be against camping and for long respawns, atleast if getting the best gear in the game involves NM's. If your solution is the random spawning of mobs anywhere in the game with no pattern of any kind, you sir, will never see the gear i promise you.
If the mob is hard enough to be super difficult with a party of 8 , it is possible.Like i said, please notice the direction the game is taking. You cant want the best gear in the game and be against camping and for long respawns, atleast if getting the best gear in the game involves NM's. If your solution is the random spawning of mobs anywhere in the game with no pattern of any kind, you sir, will never see the gear i promise you.
You think that camping NMs is what needs to be awarded most, with best gear? You cant want the best gear in the game and be against camping and for long respawns, atleast if getting the best gear in the game involves NM's. The solution with the random spawning of mobs anywhere in the game with no pattern of any kind would add rare items. Very rare items.
I never said that this should be the only sort of NM, there are various options to add instanced NM, faction leve NM, BCNM, the current open world NM.
There could be tournaments with rewards (instanced PVP) and lots of other new game modes.
Please note, I am not 100% against camping, we talk about 24h pops here!
Being restricted to a single window every day is simply unfair given all the different time zones.
Some people are limited to certain times and i want to play the game when i am free and not at night or when i am supposed to work. Why is that so hard to understand?
Make it pop often, lower the drop rate.
Also IMO the super rare gear should be untradeable and people should be able to hold only one.

You shouldn't have to camp the hardest monsters in the game to get the rarest, bestest, coolest gear. NM should camp you!
Your party of 4 is wandering down a road and freaking giant dragon lands on your buddy. Survive, get rewarded. That's a challenge.
Monsters that are only out at night and roaming wide, or in certain weather are cool. Monsters that only are in deep caves or dungeons that you have to fight to get to are cool. Monsters that attack you at random while on a ship are cool. Monsters that are actively assaulting you out of the sky, or stampeding towards the hamlet you are in are cool.
Monsters that pop on a clock are boring...
This game needs to more challenging and more dangerous and more alive, monsters that pop on a clock just seem like....blah....

I wouldnt be opposed to that. Would add a kinda Monster Hunter/ Demon Souls, or even old school FF random battle element to things. In moderation of course, since I dont want to be eviscerated by a Royal Antlion anytime I wander around Ul'dah. You shouldn't have to camp the hardest monsters in the game to get the rarest, bestest, coolest gear. NM should camp you!

i do, it would be funny as hell if an NM had the random chance to spawn in a city and go on a rampage
*thinks back to Ragnarok Online*
ah the memories of seeing all the merchants in Prontera being slaughtered by Drake's army ^^
that was the best episode imo.
Sounds like your asking for abyssea in ff14, you dont want big groups that takes strategy, you want to duo all but 3 mobs in the game (Pugilist+Thaum).
New thread asking for Primal Brews otw.
eh not asking for anything. Im mainly just saying you should look the direction the game is heading . no game is gonna cater to all kind of players and ffxiv is not the exception, at least not in a short time spawn(ffxi might be more balanced for diferent type of gamers but that took what 10 years to achive?).Some people should just realize the game is not catering to them anymore.I might fall into this category , maybe.
edit; going to the movie to watch earth invasion .Thanks for the discussion i enjoyed it.
Cheers.
There used to be a similar argument in ff11 about needing less people to do events.
Something like a party of 6 should be able to do anything, simply make things weaker so a party of 6 can kill it but still be hard. The problem is, if 6 people can kill something, its not hard, even if its hard for you, it took almost no cooperation with others and most likely very little strategy. Something that would take 18 people and still be hard is many many times more difficult.
You only having 5 friends shouldnt be my problem either.
