New NMs

Instead of luck based NMs why dont we just have instanced NMs that are actually tough, if the competing for a claim is the thrill you need you might wanna try a pvp game. In 2011 creating a system where a small part of the population wins and a large part of the population gets frustrated and loses isnt the best way to keep customers, this isnt 2004.

actually the bot claim I saw wasn't even for an NM i was after. I plaued ffxi since feb of 2011 no update did that all it did was not let anyone claim the nm the second it pop, it didn't stun you. I was watching a few ppl i knew fight the nm as I never seen it. I never get made at a mob claim. And a bot don't claim on spawn it wats a few seconds before doing so the claimbot I saw was AFTER the update.

I spent my life playing ffxi and I regreat doing so. I lost the love of my life over it. You get how bad it is yet? No game should rule youre life. And no item in a game is worth getting sick over scar and vich grow up and get help before you hit rock bottom.

And visch don't hate on ppl for not wanting 24 hour pops you made the thread stop getting mad at ppl for not agreeing with you. I know just about everything in ffxi. I hope to get my life in check with a better job so I can play it again. Or just wait til 14 comes out since I can just use the ultimate game pay card.

Ever considered that most Maintenances are at EU Prime Time, which will make it JP Morning and US Afternoon. So what are the people supposed to do who are not willing to wake up at 3AM in the morning to get a chance on a claim?

Oh right...people who can't wake up at 3AM in the morning to fight a stupid NM are definetely not leet and skillful enough to get the items they could drop...forgot that...stupid me...

I seem to forget the basic formula for MMORPGs [Time = Skill]...why make bosses harder so less people actually defeat them, rather then make them spawn once every 24h, which is clearly the "better" choice ...

Whoever is voting for 24h Time Windows and/or "Like" those posts...get a fucking life, get a job, a girlfriend w/e...you seem to have wasted your life and need to sort out your priorities again.

Then go camp when it's in your window? Normal 24 hour NMs in XI were 21~24 hour meaning you don't need to to be there the whole time.

It wouldn't be fair to anyone if it always popped at 4 am. So I don't think that will happen.

This is exactly why it shouldn't be 24 hour repop. It would be just as well making it 1-2 hour repop and having the NM be on the more difficult side. People still wipe on Mosshorn, Dodore, and Great Buffalo for cying out loud (when fought traditionally).

For those who don't find these NMs challenging with 8 people or less can use an upgrade, but 24 pop doesn't combat this need to be challenged in the way we want it to be. It just challenges your commitment to virtual items, and if your virtual items can ONLY be obtained at 4am and you set your alarm to get up to acquire them, you need to rethink what you're doing with your life.

Long gone are the days of camping a 72hr repop with god knows how long window time.

Sure, the sheer joy of getting claiming Vrtra and defeating it for the first time is .

BUT mindless camping and a system which rewards luck more than skill is a major NO these days.

I still remember spending an entire month camping for that freakin moldavite earring, god it was awful.
though the joy I had when it finally dropped was simply indescribable

but I'm sure as hell don't want to re-experience the dreadful time of "waiting" for repop, that is just plain stupid.

I don't have the time to do the 24hr pops, my teen/bum days are long over, pulling all nighters going through kings and trying to stall kills to keep the buggers in our time slot, fighting against bots and stupid smug people thinking that their shit don't stink because they can down fafnir in 10mins got old a loooooong time ago.

While the current stuff are ridiculous like killing an NM only to see it pop right after, I'm very much against the 24hr pops, something in between like 3-4 hours is ok with me.

I would probably not play this game anymore if they made 24-hr pop NMs even a minor focus unless it was like a pop item with a 24 hr cd that anyone who farms the item can pop at their leisure once every 24.

If people want to camp Fafnir with a new skin in a new zone, then go back to FFXI. They're still updating the game, heck even more than what XIV is getting. I would not welcome 24 hr spawn NMs ala FFXI. I hope they continue along the same path that Tanaka set prior to launch and make this game accessible to casual players. I'm in my mid twenties now and don't have the time between school and work to be camping absurdly long respawn NMs.

not really 99% of the time repops wree 12am-6am if it appear earlier i never heard or seen of it.

Yes indeed, the story starts for the other LS but that's then another story and I'm not interested in that story, I'm not going to lie about it. And don't pretend to know what I think please, this doesn't help making your points stronger.

It only proves how selfish you are. It is an MMO, other people play the game besides you.. that is the point.

I'm ok with the current repop timer.

At the moment the population level of the servers isn't high, and this means that NMs can e hogged by just a few LSs. Of course they aren't planning for the population of the servers to be like that forever, and with more competition the the relatively short repop means that people will have a decent chance at downing the NMs.
