I can instantly add more. Its called Amazon. You can preorder at any time. Plus just because you preorder it doesn't mean your gunna log in during early access.

You are right that you can add more via Amazon, but still that few thousand or so that are still pre-ordering could have still been accounted for. I would say that probably 10% of the people that are pre-ordering now are the people that were trying to fix their issue with link their early access with the wrong service account. I was one of them and they didn't even respond to my email till this afternoon, which I had already fixed by that time. In this era of gaming companies (especially older ones) should know to expect more when it comes to servers needed for online play. You get 1000 pre-orders, expect 2000 people to play. I feel it will be worse come midnight tomorrow, as Gamestop will be doing a midnight release, you also will have all the people that did not try to play this weekend, and all the people that will play after their friends tell them to get it. I feel this first weekend will probably be worst, but I will hope for the best.

Ppl paid money; they have a right to rage. SE was big on promises, especially if you gave them money to preorder. Now they aren't fulfilling their end of the bargain. Woops. There's just no excuse for that. Once money is involved, apologies aren't enough. The fact of the matter is that SE only had mild expectations for NA. This has exceeded their expectations. Still, they aren't going to break their budget just so all of us can play. As long as there are enough of us left here to meet their original expectations, SE is perfectly happy.

Japan was the only place ARR had to do really well. Thats why Japan's servers have as many resources as our own, despite NA/EU accounting for more players. We are just a bonus, and as long as enough of us keep playing, SE will turn the profit they expected. Long story short, they aren't really doing *everything* they can. Budget says this is all we get to work with. Thats why we're getting server optimizations instead of more servers and free transfers. They can do that til the cows come home, its just flat out not enough resources. Will they spend for more? I doubt it.

Before you flame others in a thread about the server issues please think about that question. I don't think most of you realize how servers work and what is going on. Basically SE has WAY more players than they expected for EA and probably launch too. They probably didn't find this out until you did. You can't know how many people are going to log on until they actually LOG ON. Then once you see "oh crap we need way more servers plus their are issues with current ones" you have to get more servers which takes time.

SE wants to make money so they are going to work as fast as possible to fix things so that people actually play. That being said having a large player base is a good thing. The more people that play the more content we will get. So basically just wait it out for a few days and hopefully things will turn around. If they don't then rage on. Till then please stop flaming. It doesn't help. Letting SE know there are issues does help. Whining does not.

I know they have market /research teams that make way more money than anyone here, a whole room full to just to give them figures of how many customers they might/will expect, hell they have research depts for almost anything and they do their job very well or they don't have a job so when these excuses of they didn't expect this turn out keeps being used it kinda makes my ass itch.. honestly true fact is they did not care enough about our servers to upgrade them to make it ready. They figured they would take the wait and see approach. Spend the money abit at a time string it along buy a part here and there.

SE is a Japanese company. Do you really think they have a direct link to Amazon and Gamestop (US) or GAME (UK) and know all the sales from every country this quickly?

So, do you know how it works when Amazon is a product reseller, rather than a pure retailer? As fast as your own internal system updates sales, Amazon's system is sending you sales reports. When I first started working where I do, I was in customer service and had occasions where customers had just ordered from Amazon and realized they forgot an item or added one too many after the fact, and I could see their order and update or change it just that fast. I would be willing to bet that the digital download system through Amazon works the same way. Why? Because I've purchased digital download software from Amazon and been able to immediately log into Steam and start the game.

And for companies that sell to Amazon at wholesale and Amazon is the retailer? Well, to those companies those items are sold, and are treated that way.

I'm not totally sure about what software people are having sent to them, since everyone who received early access was given a code and link to a download client.

I'm pretty sure trixster67 was referring to those who preordered a physical copy of the game. Not a digital one.

Even those that pre-ordered a physical copy were issued links to download the client for the EA. My mother, brother, and I all ordered physical and were issued links to download the client, on PC and PS3, and all were playing at one time this weekend. As I said before it makes no sense to call it "early" access if you redeem after launch date.
