The fact that people are consigning themselves to the point where this is an option shows how terrible the primary problem is. Booting afk people will not even put a dent in server stress considering the fact they have had to continue to lessen the amount of concurrent users several times. This would be a short term and largely ineffective solution.

They can't service the amount of people they have now.....and it appears they are not even close. And when launch comes the general population will double. Kicking afk people won't make up for that kind of influx. The only long term solution is in hardware, not game features. I can't believe they messed up this badly after 1.0 nearly sunk their company.

1 game isn't going to sink SE lol....

many large scale games do this so I don't see why this one should be any different.
especially if you are going to lock so many people out of the game because of full severs

Honestly 30 minutes of inactivity is more than enough. Yes it does seem on the long side, but considering FFXI you didn't get booted at all. I can deal with 30 minutes. No more bazaar means higher FPS response. Auto disconnect means higher FPS and less network congestion. Works for me.

I know there are multiple threads talking about this. If you like or believe that inactive (afk) should have an auto boot

If you do not make a movement or action with your controller / keyboard in 30 minutes you should be disconnected.

Chatting , inventory organizing and all these actions would count as active. Any actions or interface with the system counts.

If your sitting there or following someone for 30 minutes with out some system interface your afk an get disconnected.

I vote / support this idea and would like to see it added before official release. like this, bump it.

I COMPLETELY support this. I would hope this would eliminate 3102 errors go away. Currently I can't log in b/c "I'm already logged in" they claim. Maybe having some kind of a time limit boot would keep the servers from being so overcrowded? I'm assuming many people aren't logging off (no matter what) b/c it's so hard to actually GET IN these days.

I think that 1 hour is perfectly fine, it gives times for those with kids and such to deal with their real life without interfering too much.

I know anything is better than nothing but an hour? I was gone an hour putting my 3 kids to bed. Something that is going to take that long yes you should log off. You give me an hour besides the days I choose to work and when I need to sleep I would never have to get off. I can do all my normal daily duties and routines w/o getting off.

I will take any timer over now timer.
