Feedback on Server Quality

Im kinda really recommending the adding of new additional servers. And free server transfers at this point.

1. Additional Servers that Legacy players may transfer if they would like.
2. Additional servers that anyone may transfer too.
3. Prevent further non-legacy players from creating characters on legacy servers until a population hits near a certain quota of players.

Alternatively id say just enhance the strength of the servers as much as you can then reduce it over time.

Additionally you could open up a ton more servers -

in the future...
add a cross server playing thing where player can play PVE content cross server open world without the server being a total brick wall. Or something like that.

Its pretty frustrating having to sit back hearing your friends play the game without you. Getting errors when attempting to login.

Adding extra servers won't help until they fix their network issue. Not sure what servers they're using but I'm sure they're maxed out in specs. Besides a car (computer) can only go as fast as the engine (network speed) can give.

Cross world characters is just not possible because of the way the game and infrastructure is designed. At best what you're describing is the Duty Finder (dungeon) feature where you'd play with any character from any world.

I know your frustruation I'm in the same boat. Only got on for 20 min today b4 being kicked out and 3102 error locked me out for 4 hours. Now I can't get in server is full and is bed time.

SE screwed up, did not plan ahead, alot of things were not tested on beta, you only got as far as the lvl 15 quest and until you get the envoy quest. Everything else was not tested at all, including some areas. Early access is been nothing but a scam, I got a very busy life and I won't be able to play much during the week. My weekend for early access was completely denied by SE.

Not necessarily true, other games have the cross server type things. Like Aion has their "Fast Track Server" and Guild Wars 2 have the Guesting Function.

And the reason why i say adding more servers is because if you create a character on the japanese server, less then half are closed off from making new characters. The NA servers are all pact. No making characters AT ALL. and only 3 EU servers are available.

That's because they were designed so that your character can travel between worlds. FF was never designed to do that. Transferring characters between servers for SE right now is pretty complicated since your character data stay with the server you're assigned.

No, because they said they were providing the service of server transfers after release, so that isn't exactly right.

It's a load balancing issue and I don't think their servers are scalable. I think they're putting in some hard figures that they obtained from Alpha, P1 thru P3, and then made some adjustments from P4 (but looks like it isn't working) Infrastructure needs to scale accordingly with the amount of congestion, but this isn't what SE has done. They're providing minimal framework and trying to cut cost to recoup investment from development of ARR. Oddly enough, this goes against their whole philosophy prior to P4, where they said they'd throw everything in, including the kitchen sink, to make this come back successful.

You can discuss the specifics and why's but the bottom line is people that want to play can't get on. Once they can deal with this, problem solved.
