Oh here comes the typical, "I'm accustomed to crap service, so everyone else should be too." argument again. Just because some mmorpg in the past had a crummy launch does not mean it's okay when a future one has one. Companies should study other companies past mistakes and successes, and then build off of those things. They should be held to a higher standard. It makes me absolutely sick when people try to attack others because they are not accustomed to a lifestyle of disappointments. People paid hard earned money for this game and they shouldn't have to settle because some company made someone else do it in the past.

Except that's not what most people are saying. It's fine to be upset or annoyed at all the issues, very few people aren't. Saying that the companies need to have it perfect at launch, otherwise it's bad service, is ludicrous. In the western world, the sheer amount of people trying to play at the same time on the release of a new MMO is FAR FAR above what would normally happen. Even if NO one left, after a while they would mostly be playing around their normal times. Not all the time and constantly.

People say the JP servers have had little to no problems, yet people fail to mention that they don't have huge droves of people everywhere. They aren't hammering the servers like westerners do. So SE should make many many many more servers, split the playerbase up more, only to have to merge them down the road, wasting that money completely? Not to mention having ghost towns and having to merge bothers a whole 'nother group of customers.

These are the reasons people say to be patient. Making special accommodations JUST for launch, is as I said, ludicrous. It's not intentional, no way, but the sheer amount of players trying to all play at the same time, all the time, are most certainly part of the issue.
