Thinking of starting back up!

Id like to open by stating i played the second portion of closed beta, open beta, and launch and had my hang ups. However with Yoshi now taking the initiative now i feel as though the game will only keep getting better.

So with that said I'm really thinking of coming back (seeing as its free and all lol). I have 2 questions:

1. What server would be best with the low pops as of now?

and...

2. Any LS advise? seeing as I'm sure LS are just as sparse as players lol

wait a few months and i might say maybe, at the current state i wouldnt reccomend XIV to any of my friends even if i play it daily myself.

Waiting a few months would only put this guy way behind everyone els. If you plan to come back to the game, well now would be the best time before they add end game content. At least if you come back now and try hard to catch up you wont be behind the times when new things come out.

Palamecia is a good server imo. As for linkshells, I cant say I have that problem. I am in a very amazing LS. http://www.paranor.enjin.com

I agree with Flower. If you plan on playing in the future then start now. I personally do not lvl battle classes due to the major changes coming. Focus on crafting and DoL. Fishing is surprisingly fun!

I need to pickup fishing lol it was actually my least enjoyed class XD

But I might give it a second chance lol

But yeah, I think now's the time to start playing cuz huge changes are coming and you can level up for them
I'm in Fabul - no complains. It's very well populated (there's even ppl in gridania :O) and a LOT of LS ;P

i dont know whats your definition by being left behind, because right now you can play 3-5hour every night and still reach r50 within a month.

but disregarding all that, if you can put up with all the flaws FFXIV currently have and want to be ready for the upcoming content, then by all means give it a try since it is still a free game.

also, there are no best server because everyone is biased to their own server, best to do few research here and there.

The game is playable at this moment and should be better after the 1.17 release

However, I don't recommend you to start it now

it saves us another potential RAGEQUIT player, i am not saying you will be one OP but there is a chance you might be after you played the game on its current state. This game might be fun if you happen to find the correct server and the correct players that you can fit in, the social aspect and cool people in my server are what kept me playing, its definitely not the game.
