Unable to Create Charater Config Data.

Hello,

I had recently managed to log onto the Midgardsormr server after the last Emergency Maintenance. Twenty minutes in, while simply just running to my next quest, the power went out in my house for less then a minutes. I turned everything back on, logged in and selected my character only to get the message "Unable to create character config data".

Please assist & thanks in advance.

EDIT:
The only solution I am pondering on my side would be to delete my character's saved data on my PS3 (sorry, forgot to mention I was on PS3) to see if this would solve the issue? Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Update:
I proceeded to delete the saved data for my character from my PS3 and upon logging on, the good old congestion errors started to pop up again. After a few retries and a queue, I am back online. It would seem that due to the power cutting off as my PS3 was probably saving, the data got corrupted? Regardless, this fixed my issue. So, if anyone ever gets the "Unable to create character config data" message on your PS3 while logging on, simply delete the saved data for your character from your PS3 and you should be back in business.

Update to the Update:
One last note... As I began to head out to my next quest, I stumbled upon some hunt log mobs. As I targeted and headed in their direction, spamming my hot bars, I noticed one last thing. Hot bars are gone along with my gear sets. It seems this is not saved server side. So, although this fixed my original issue, and more important one at that, be cautious and prepared to loose some time creating hot bars & gear sets for 19 jobs (at the moment) if this issue happens to you.

Did you have a 50toon, from 1.0 ?? I am getting similar message, getting "unable to locate character config. Create new data?" ps3 froze during log in. If I delete will I lose my 50 toon?

for ps3 says the code you entered may be wrong or invalid :/ for psn store CE edition

I'm having that very same issue on PS3 with "Not able to locate character config data. Create new?" (Every time I log in)

I only lose my config data, macros, and gear sets but still. It should be saving those to the PS3 or their server.

This happened to me as well, extremely inconvenient. I would like to know if anyone knows or can speculate on what causes the corruption? I had a lot of macros that put out party chat for dungeon instruction, and had done some editing on them before this happened to me.

Also, is backing up the character data file possible? Despite the inconvenience of doing that every once in a while, it would be vastly preferable to the consequences of losing the file.

Still no fix on this, and I was simply keeping myself logged in, which is no longer an option.
Imagine what happens now when I need to take more then a half hour to make food,
or run to the store. 30 mins+ redoing macros and gear sets when I come back. -.-

I logged in with this error, and thankfully all my hot bars and gearsets were still there.
