    Wrong. Check this link: http://www.wowwiki.com/WoW_population_by_country

3.0 Million in the USA, but add up all of the other numbers across Europe that have to play on EU servers and it comes quite close to that 3.0 million...European Gamers make up, from all the different countries in Europe, almost as many WoW players as US Players, so; the EU MMO Gamer Market is the almost the same size as the NA market by your argument.

I don't want to have to get online at 3/4/5 in the morning to go raiding with NA players who schedule raids for 6pm local time. Would you be willing to play in a guild, in a raid, with people who are 8-9 hours behind you, so while they're fresh home from work with an hour or two of rest you're watching the sun rise and worrying that this next boss might make you miss your bus to work? EU servers are for people running on typically GMT and upwards of one to two hours, so my argument still stands; Why are there only 6 EU Servers?!?

Do you seriously believe that the JP datacenter is only intended for Japan?
There's other countries in that region you know... With people connecting to the JP datacenter because that's what is closest to them.

Players begged for regional datacenters to reduce "ping", so we got the NA/EU one in addition to the JP one, and now they bitch about actually getting regional datacenters...
Worst are the players that decided to go for the worlds that they knew even before P4 started would be very high population, and now bitch about not being able to create characters there.

As for "only 6" EU designated servers, that's most likely based on numbers they had from 1.0 and XI.

As for adding more servers, that's kinda pointless until they get the lobby and duty server clusters stabilized.

I am usualy not the person that complains on forums. Im way too old for that and i have been playing a lot of MMO's and most of them from day 1.

What makes me really angry with the overpopulation on the so named "EU servers" is... This director asks us to create characters on a server with a lower population. But which server has a lower population? JP ones maybe...

    BUT!

Sorry i am sick of playing with "JP only". I have played FFXI for years and even while i have learned some JP to play with them. I just dont wanna do this anymore. Not because of the language (which is an issue - fact). The simple reason is: I dont wanna raid in the early morning with JP, nor do i wanna raid in the late night with the americans. As much as i love to play with different nations and as much as i love to play and communicate in english... I have to take care for a family and i gotta get up early in the morning. I have to spend time with my son in the afternoon so the only real time to play is in EU prime.

So why for gods sake should i create a character on a server where i will end up playing alone again just like i did the major time in FFXI?

    Unacceptable.

Yes because I AM in an EU guild and I am in America. Like I said, EU servers ARE the same thing as NA servers. They are in the same location and use the same data center. Your entire post is irrelevant.

As someone stated in another thread, the whole labeling of JP and NA/EU server is unnecessary.

Pretty much all servers have the same ping, so they could have simply removed this arbitrary categorization (especially for NA/EU) and let everyone choose whichever server they wanted.

Result: less crowded servers, and we might have had the chance to play decently during the last weekend.

You do know the EU data centre is still in NA don't you? Not very local... And I didn't decide on my server (except maybe when I started 1.0 and my original server was merged into Saragtana's which is one of the more densely populated NA servers at the minute). I've been there on that server since day one. I didn't (and many others like me I imagine) choose a server I knew would be impossible to log in, just to some how justify a bad mood.

And they had more numerical intel on how many people in the EU would be playing going by, yes 1.0 data, but also pre-order pre-sales. There is literally no excuse.

European players like playing on servers that have an EU tag because this way they end up playing with people from the same timezone (or close to).
Six servers are currently full and lots of players can't play.

I've got the feeling some people honestly have no idea what timezones are, that and a general lack of common sense.

You dont get it, no? I dont think any EU person gives a damn where the servers actualy are located. Who cares if the ping is 20 or 100? That doesnt really change a thing. But what makes a difference is, that if a server is labeled as "EU" more "EU ppl" might wanna make that one their virtual home in hope to find "more EU ppl" to play with at "EU prime".

In FFXI i played with NA mostly and hell i was pissed 4 days a week when i watched them start NNE, Dynamis and all that other stuff 15 minutes before i had to log. Made me quit cause i dont pay for a "Massive Multiplayer Online Game" to play it on my own.

    THAT is the point.

Finaly there is a higher chance for the EU gamers to play with other EU gamers. One of the main reasons i came back after i quit in v.1.
