Not enough RAM
Not enough RAM
What lol? even though that is a nonsense post your bump of this thread is welcome. A LOT of different machines with different hardware configurations are getting this, it's nothing to do with RAM. It's a programming/hardware issue that SE need to fix, yet they seem to be leaving it up to the people in this thread to figure out the issue. I was informed months ago that they were 'aware' of it, but have they done anything?? have they even responded to this thread?.... they are aware but they haven't a clue, which is why they don't respond to their concerned end users.

fraid not, I know a few people who have 16GB of ram and really good video chips(would have to ask them which ones, cant remember) that have 2GB of onboard. if RAM were the issue they wouldnt be effected. this issue is in the code of the game. the only ones that can fix it are the devs and they dont seem to give a rat's !@# about it sadly
I do experience this aswell, and it sadly is a pretty common occurence. I can not Play a single day without getting my System crashed, though this happens only with final Fantasy.
Specially in my case, i rate it somewhat extreme - the Computer never ever crashed or has had any Errors at all since i bought it rougly 10 months ago.

If 16 split with 8 dedicated to gaming isn't enough RAM, then yes, I suppose that COULD be the issue. Otherwise I STRONGLY suspect it's something (as per usual) on SE's end...ie sloppy coding and sh.. crap for servers. They are NOTORIOUS for cutting corners and being penny wise and pound foolish, and this is no exception.
Things are not always what they seem. When in doubt, ask.

So I read, and read all these posts and yet no one came out with a fix. Well I did a little side research on my computer. Well needless to say I was getting this error over and over and over and it got really annoying. But I am also a tech, checked RAM its ok, Checked Video card and its ok. Even check CPU for over heating etc etc just gave a HUGE diag to my pc. But one thing i didn't look at was updates. Well long story short i check MS updates and what did I find! I found two KB2565063. I have deleted one of them and then jump back on the game. The game ran perfectly fine. I played for at least 2 hours. I haven't had error pop its head back up.
Step1: Open Control Panel
Step2: Go to uninstall programs
Step3: Click on View installed updates
Step4: Look for Microsoft Visual C++
Step5: See if you have two KB2565063, if so delete the one that doesn't give a version.
Step6: Close all windows and restart game.
I do hope this is a fix, but like my title says possible fix.
OH and Merry Christmas!

Hey guys just wanted to let you know of my discovery.
Today I have played a total of 3 hours changing zones and everything.
Normally I would get Runtime Error and the game would crash. After taking away one of the Microsoft updates I have not experienced a crash.
(Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x64 Redistributable - 10.0.40219)
(Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable - 10.0.40219)
The x86 for me was the one not showing any version. After I uninstalled this I started the game and it was working fine for me. I was able to stay on the game for 3hours. Usually i would experience the Runtime Error after a good 30mins to 1hr. I have left the game on for at least 15 mins doing absolutely nothing and coming back to the game picking it back up and No error code. See if your system has this, and do as I did and it should Fix the issue. I hope this will help everyone who has this problem I have not had runtime issue yet. If I do i will repost and tell you that it isn't a good idea and there is needed to be another fix.enjoy!
