Runtime Error

Have you tried running in full screen?

I only run in full screen.

Also my previous post saying how well the game ran for a day. This morning it ran like total crap, CPU very high on usage, taking forever to load NPCs/quest turn ins, etc. This time I could really tell it was going to happen. Nothing was loading as I was on my mount. Eventually hit a lag wall (unable to walk through a certain point on the map). Sometimes I can turn around and the wall is gone. This time, turned around came back, things still not loading. Bang, C++ error. Again...

I have a possible fix for this:

* check all C++ libs, dl installer and run repair. or just update. (C++ 2010, C++ 2008 + SP1, x32 and x64)
* install the latest directx -> use webinstaller. (found this tip on some forum, seems to fix my issue so far)
* rienstall game client, if needed.

So far, issue free, after loads of crashes. Hope this helps.

Than the only real option left is what this post stated. If that doesn't work than it is likely a C++/Graphics Card problem. I am going to assume that you are not new to tech and have updated your drivers for your graphics card. But the C++ LIBs becoming corrupted is your likely source of the problem.

Steps I took:

C++ 2008 x86 -> Run installer
C++ 2008 x86 SP1 -> Run installer
C++ 2008 x64 -> Run installer
C++ 2008 x64 SP1 Run installer
C++ 2010 x86 -> Run repair option
C++ 2010 x64 -> Run repair option

DirectX Webinstaller

Run windows update for all security updates for C++, you will get some.

And finally a FRESH install of FFXIV.

Remember: If you are on a x86 based system, you only need x86 C++ to be installed. Any x64 based system needs all files posted above. Install in order top to bottom.

I've been having the same problems with the game lately. On Early Access it was pretty fine, but now, I have to wait 3 minutes long for some NPCs to load, I run into a lot of invisible walls, and usually they are located in the same places, like in Western Thanalan, I have one invisible wall in the tunnel going to Footfalls, and then another wall in the middle of the way to Vesper Bay. In some maps, it takes me a long time to even see the other players and my friend tends to make fun of my character while I can't see him :P Oddly, my CPU doesn't max out... actually, I can open Final Fantasy XIV and Photoshop at the same time without even experiencing a decrease in performance... but during game it's getting really annoying.

Experiencing this too. Invisible walls. Audio cutting. NPCs taking ages to load.. I have even gotten stuck under the ground two times. Went straight through a bridge and ended up in the water xD I freaked out. But most of all I'm having this runtime error. ^^' *sigh* I hope this gets fixed soon!

That's a duplication right here as well. 4 times this evening. Two within an hour of each other - woulda been less had I not been 3102'd out of the server cos I was "still logged in". I'm giving the clean install a try though after updating all my C++ libs. Definitely has the feel of a memory leak with the slowing down shortly before the crash, and often in areas with 200+ Players in close vicinity - Ul'Dah, Leve locs etc.

We'll see how it goes.

Did those steps, still getting the error.
