I am embarrassed for SE. This is absolutely foolish. Every player deserves a refund for this.

The 1017 error is starting to get really frustrating for me and I'm the kind of person with a long fuse. I can never play because when I get off work it's typically during primetime hours. The biggest problem I have is not only the error but the lack of communication SE has with its customers. Could we at least get a response saying that you're looking into it and when you expect it to be fixed instead of the same copy/paste posts about no new characters?
bet the people who afk is afraid that when they log out, they will be in the same boat we are in, the 1017 hell!!! I would understand their feeling. The one I would want to be kicked out of the game it the people spamming real money to gil shit!! Take them all out and make space for real players to play!!
I am the type that will log to give someone else a chance to get in... but this is trying my patience. It doesn't even help that NOW I have had a que spot and STILL kicked out on the 1017 code.
See the sticky that was created by the mod at 6:28 PM in this Tech support forum.
Still very painful to read. I work for an SMB and Dell can send me equipment to expand my cluster in 7-10 days when I push my sales rep. You're telling me that SE does not have a strong enough pull to force Dell / HP / whoever they use for a next day shipment?
That's happened to me four times in the past two hours of spamming and failing to connect. :/ If this isn't fixed by the time the free two weeks for 1.0 players thing ends, I'll probably hold off on subbing for a month or two. I'm not really angry, just frustrated because this has prevented me from playing with friends for nearly a week now. I'll still be subbing at some point regardless, but I'd rather wait until I can connect without fear of 1017 for hours.
25 servers for North America and Europe was obviously not enough.
It is strange how JP servers don't appear to have this problem. I can log into a JP server with no problems.
I am sure they'll fix the problem. One hour AFK logout timers would work. I'm also sure that they'll be able to discern between people playing the game and jumping or running in circles too.
This error stuff has been hard; but look at this video. It made me laugh.

You're probably logging into the JP servers during non-peak hours like I am. Hopefully this server upgrade business will settle it all. We already know they've been restricting the NA server use because the Duty Finder and Instancing hasn't been working on it for a lot of people. They have to fix that first, then they can expand server space. Still, all of this should have been seen and fixed in the Beta phases.25 servers for North America and Europe was obviously not enough.

So today I've been trying to log in now for the last 7 hours and all I've met is error 1017. How is this not a priority to have fixed NOW. Next week is an unacceptable time frame to fix the issue when this has been happening now for 5+days and will continue still for another 4-5 days at least if sticking to the schedule currently posted. That's effectively thousands of players who will continue to have hours or days of not being able to play the game due to what basically boils down to POOR planning by the developers of this game.
I'm over it. You've lost a subscriber.
Yes I know no one cares on these forums...
