So sick and tired of this crap already. Beta phases and early access sure didn't help to fix the servers. Would be nice to play without getting a ton of errors. Now we'll need to pay for our character(s) to be transferred to another server? Surely this must be a typo because this is something Square should be doing for free for the next few days. Not our problem with the overloaded servers.

Except Yoshida himself confirmed that aren't going to do anything about the people unable to login other than 'wait until you can'.

But tell me this: If I had to wait, why not put me onto a queue instead of telling me to come back later? I don't have so much free time as to sit in front of my monitor clicking over and over again .

that doesnt seem like a smart move on. find that hard to beleive, but, given this companies track record, I wouldnt be surprised

The servers are not the issue. The data center is the issue. They picked a small-time data center far away from the main backbone, with an obviously inexperienced staff, and we're paying the price.

I'd be surprised if the servers themselves were anywhere near capacity. It's the interconnections between them that are saturated because of bad planning, and trusting the inexperienced data center to handle it.

Actually, it appears the company involved offers Tier2 service at least throughout most of NA... up to 1Gbit connections between locations (that's potentially over 100 megabytes/second, approaching consumer grade hard drive speeds).

But, no argument about the poor planning. Even though Ormuco has only been established since 2008, not sure I'd say their data center guys are inexperienced (provided that's who is in fact managing it for them). To pull in big companies, they have to have some people with some clout working for them. Even when I was working for a small local firm, companies like Budweiser and Pepsi wanted to see resumes of the people that would be working on a project when taking bids.

If we are to hold someone to blame, it likely falls more to SE for either not providing enough info for planning--or trying to cut too many corners.

Posting on behalf of a mate, who while linking all his accounts and whatnot cannot make it from the launcher to the main menu without getting 1017 and being told he can't connect to the server...
He cant even make a char, while i sitting right next to him can log on and play flawlessly WTF

This is fucking sad, it seems a certain fact needs to be made. Since it seems like SE is saying fuck you to western gamers, we need to say fuck you back and the only way sadly is to do so with our wallets. In my opinion the only reason why square wont do anything to fix this is because it will probably cost money. Basically if a server holds 10k players than they have 10k players that are paying for the game. By calculation those players will pay them the money needed to make a profit and so forth with the other servers. To them why make more servers and spend more money when they are already making a good enough profit. I think the only way to stop this is to not pay for this game, most of us have already bought the game or bought it for sake of CE or early access. But it's obvious they don't give a shit about western gamers so in turn i think we as consumers need to show how unacceptable this is by quitting this game. I would give this game a week or so until a fix is created...if not well, fuck this game. I suggest you people do so also. Paying for service like this is something that no one deserves. If SE wants to only cater to JP group then fine, we should show how much it will hurt them for assuming that.

have 2 accounts, if you stick with it. you can get in, never took me more than an hour to get in yesterday or today. And i did it with 2 accounts on behemoth. Of course, i logged in early. i mean, at 5-7pm est. goodluck~
