Rather than me creating a whole new thread can I just quickly ask , is it possible to rename your character*rather*than creating a brand new one? Thx

Not that I know of. You might be able to game it when server transfers come up by transferring though

I don't know this for sure, but based on previous world transfers and FFXI, you can only change name if your name is the same as someone who already exists on the world you're trying to change to so it forces you to change your name (the solution to this was therefore to create the character on that world yourself first, then transfer forcing your own name change)
