    Consider these facts:

    - Launches are historically flawed.
    - - This is an "acceptable" practice in this field. Mainly because "Launch" server capacity isn't indicative of -actual- capacity (say, a few months down the road). As this is as much a business model as it is an entertainment platform, there is more of a focus on long-term server stability, as opposed to short-term stability.
    - - Consider a "return-on-investment" mindset. Should we spend a relatively large sum of money on a short-term fix; only to be stuck with that overhead once the flood has receded? - Or, should we focus those resources on long-term stability, development, etc.?

These posts are similar to a child screaming, "I want it NOW!" Please, be more constructive.

Except that many of us have offered constructive ideas. Implementing an AFK time-out, as one example. The "facts" that you cited are, in all actuality, not facts at all, save for the first, which was vague and subjective. What are "flaws?" A "flawed" launch has historically included things so minor as briefly high lag spikes, or quest bugs. Those hardly compare to being unplayable. "Acceptable" practices are subjective as well. Acceptable to whom? Not to the players, who ultimately finance the game. If it were "Acceptable" to launch a game this way, why have so few games been launched in this way? Citation needed. As for your third point, that's not even a pretend-fact. That's a question of preference.

Your whole post comes off as pretentious. Please be more credible.

Pretentious? Gotcha. Chock that up to a standard posture that I'm often forced to take when trying to explain a very dynamic concept to the ignorant "I want it now" guys.

Sure, my post was a very short "Cliff's Notes" explanation; but it was geared toward the ignorant.

Be more credible? To do so would require an inordinate amount of time to explain. I could cite my education and experience in this matter, but in truth - I'm just another guy behind a keyboard. I'm just trying to be a bit more constructive than the trolls and blind-haters.

I dont get you wrong... but considering your opinion I have to disagree with you. When you offer something (software etc) and you charge (game price, subscription.. etc) ... you as seller and merchant have a responsability to satisfy that demand.. So it's not a matter of "childish screams" is an economical matter, money matter.. Simple... Im an old guy... Im not a kid.. I play some MMOs just to relax and have some fun when I get time free. So everyone expects that If they pay for the product (herein Game...) and I they are serious about paying monthly subscription.. Then SE as merchant (software devs, however you want to call it...) have the responsability to address the issue immediately no questions asked. They in fact would be violating their own agreeements to provide excellence game experience.. So here you have 2 problems.. They would be violating their agreement and making false advertisement. So do not say it's childish screaming please.. These are their customers demanding the product for what they have paid for.

+1 for your take on it.

My only counter to that is that you will very likely be well-compensated for your perceived loss. I fully anticipate a bunch of free time, or in-game items as a result. Project Management 101 teaches that a backup is needed to appease both stakeholders and end-users for any shortfalls in failure to meet a suspense. Of course they're not going to talk about it now. Then, it would be expected; and that which is expected can't be percieved as something "extra". We'll all get something out of this after the dust settles. It will likely outweigh our perceived loss. I.E.: Five days of poor login capability = 10 days of free play time.

Trust me it wont go underappreciated... as customer/player I'd be more satisfied to be able to enjoin it whenever I choose to, and not when a machine or a company that on start have made millions of dollars tells me when to.. Let them spend some money on resources... We did our part.
