The servers are not the issue. The data center is the issue. They picked a small-time data center far away from the main backbone, with an obviously inexperienced staff, and we're paying the price.

I'd be surprised if the servers themselves were anywhere near capacity. It's the interconnections between them that are saturated because of bad planning, and trusting the inexperienced data center to handle it.

Obviously there are going to be some set backs, but eventually SE will increase the size of the servers besides in away early access is a way for the company sort out all the bugs. Essentially this means were still kind of a beta until they increase the servers, all mmo's have trouble with servers and the population in the beginning, these full servers are only temporary for now.

No. Early access = pre-launch = early access... NOT BETA.
I'm sorry, but people who claim it's part of Beta are so full of $h*t their eyes are brown.
The Beta was declared over - which means the game should be good - there is no legitimate excuse short of a solution.

I believe that what Yoshida should do, after firing whoever did such poor server management, would be to offer compensantions to their player base.

They need to at least offer some free game time on top of the 30 days one to those that can't log in, specially to the early acess folks.

Except Yoshida himself confirmed that aren't going to do anything about the people unable to login other than 'wait until you can'.

But tell me this: If I had to wait, why not put me onto a queue instead of telling me to come back later? I don't have so much free time as to sit in front of my monitor clicking over and over again .

I was just about to post about cancelling my pre-order as I couldn't get on at about 7 PST. I tried one more time and I saw a player queue pop up and I got in, you just saved 2 paying customer SE well played.

at anyrate SE is stupid to let this happen, IMHO, or take that kind of risk, maybe we should all quit and get refunds if this is how important they think NA and EU are

I agree. A queue + auto kick afkers should be the least they could do.

Another thing they could add is free server transfers for a while so we can play on JP servers and get back home later. If he said he wont do anything about people unable to log in, I guess all I can do is ask for a refund.

Tip: don't load photoshop and any software while FFXIV is minimized, it will crash the game
