Last time a que even got displayed to me, about 2 hours ago, there were only 90 people in it and when it hit 87 I got the dreaded 1017 error. How the hell can a queue be full?
Store the persons identifying information and time they entered the queue. Then simply count how many people are ahead and display it on the screen. When a slot opens on the server, take that persons identifying information and log them in.
What kind of ass clown programmed this?? "Queue is full??" at what 100 people 200? Are you storing the queue of every server on a digital wristwatch? Or is the code just such complete shit that it can't handle an extremely simple list of users and update positions every 10.. 20.. 30 seconds?
As a senior programmer i can only assume that SE is standing up and saying "fuck you guys! HAHAH!" This crap is so basic it's asinine to witness. If you need me to come in and consult (which seems to be the case) then please feel free to contact me. At least it will give me something to do while you bend me over with this "log in lottery" you have going.
I've been extremely patient and supportive up till this point. But not managing to keep a queue stable? I finally realize what's happening. 1017 * 3 + 51 just means your reaming me with 3102. Which I took with a smile. Now you've launched. You've had how long to make sure the most BASIC aspect to an MMO (logging in) is working?
... Don't even get me started on the lack of an AFK auto log out feature.
