Yeah, the server worked for me this morning, early but now I can't log in due to 1017 error...it's making me sad lol.

Might as well say that its the same for Hyperion and Exodus..
BTW.... There is a queue system, but its capped stupidly low. I got in queue position 16, to only be greeted with "world is full" message after it finished (perhaps length - 1 missing?).
I have been here since alpha 1.0 and I only keep sticking around because it has "FF" in the title, but at some point you have to sit back and say are these guys really this incompetent. If I left our servers have this kind of issue at my job, I would have been fired already.

Got home from work to sorry server is full bullshit again. I just don't see how this is going to get any better with release tomorrow. Loosing faith fast... Back to GW2!
Queue position 6.... STRAIGHT IN TO WORLD FULL ERROR.... WTF is the point of a queue if you can't manage it correctly
And yet everyone was saying they would have this fixed by launch... and SE has officially made the announcement and yet.. here we are...
I come home after working a typical 8 hour shift, the exception to typical today being that I am full blown sick by the end of the day. All I want to do is come home and play FFXIV. I would not be upset if I could sit patiently in a queue... wait my turn... but no, I have to spam the sever to maybe get lucky to play a game that I have now paid for twice.
And yet, now I can't even play the game. Two whole days are now wasted to me buying this game a 2nd time, and now it seems a 3rd day is going to be wasted also.
If the servers were not ready to handle the character load that is being presented to them, then why the hell did you not cap the population? I created my character early on in the process with Ultros in Phase 4 and I find it ridiculous that I have to be have penalized by not being able to play the game with the only solution being to re-roll my character entirely on another server.
Quite frankly, I am just disappointed... so very disappointed with this launch. I received my 90000 error in Phase 4 and I gave it the doubt with "Its Beta" but for Early Launch to be this segregated with the players is just demoralizing.
If you can't provide a reliable server for ALL players to have a fair opportunity to play... then take the damn servers down entirely until the game is in working condition. It sucks knowing that I can't keep up with my FC, Friends, and Peers because I don't have the patience to hit the 0 button for 3 hours.
All-in-all a terrible experience so far, which is tough to say cause I do enjoy the game immensely or I wouldn't be passionate enough to type out a mini-rant/voice my disapproval for this whole process.
At the very least, I hope Square-Enix makes up for this to the players that can't gain access and receiving a terrible unfair experience with FFXIV.
The 1017 error is really starting to get on my nerves. It's becoming quite obvious that the NA/EU (Montreal) servers are/were not up to the task of handling large cross regional traffic.
This issue had been brought up (and subsequently shot down) during beta testing when people expressed concerns about having a large player base moving to or starting on servers in their designated region. Region being a loosely used term in this case since EU effectively doesn't even have it's own servers.
I'd really hate to see a game that SquareEnix, specifically Yoshi P. and his team, poured so much time and effort into making great run into the ground by a few poor choices and some bad out-sourcing. A practice which is now not that uncommon unfortunately.
